We are staying at the Dophin April 2006 and are trying to decide between a room w/balcony OR a Club Level Room, which do not have balconies. If you have stayed in either type of room, could you recommend either of them? Don‘t know if I want to give up my balcony. Although Club Level does get some extra advantages. Is it worth it? Do the club level rooms have ceiling to floor windows or are they just a small window that you cant get a view from unless you are standing up and looking out? We have to make a quick decision!

Hi, I have only stayed in CL rooms at the Dolphin once and Swan twice. Never in the other rooms. The windows are pretty large in CL. The balconies look pretty small in my opinion. I do like balconies, but I prefer the convenience of the CL bfast. That is about all the benefit of CL for us. We were around a couple of times for the appetizers, which are yummy by the way. The lounge closes during the day, unlike the WDW resort lounges. It closes about 1030/11am and reopens at 5 or 5:50 until 8pm, I believe. CL at the S/D is not as nice as concierge level at a Disney resort. (Just my opinion!!)

I have 3 kids that wake at all different times and we do enjoy having the bfast handy, so for us it is worth it. (and it is a very good continental bfast with a super nice lounge staff) I miss having a balcony, but as I said - at the S/D they do seem to be abnormally small anyway. I am sure others will disagree. Just my opinion. CL does include turn down which is a nice plus. The room gets straightened, fresh towels, trash emptied.

If CL rooms did have balconies, I think I would enjoy the S/D more. They are nice, but not my favorites. Some have reported luck with requesting a room with a balcony and requesting CL privileges. If the resort is fairly busy, they won't allow that. I did ask and they could not accomodate me. The fact is the S/D have some great rates, so you have to just weigh the benefits to the drawbacks.

Happy planning! :sunny:

I have debated the same question each time I go but I prefer a room with a balcony. To me it makes the room seem more spacious and although the balconies are not large you can seat at least 2 people. I also like the fresh air. CL rooms are much higher and the view is nice but from what I have read the food they serve is pretty minimal but I have no personal knowledge of this. Either choice has nice benefits :earsboy:

We were in CL at the Dolphin and being so far up I prefer not to have a balcony. The CL is okay but not worth the extra, so if you like balconies, my suggestion would be to spend your money on that.

The CL rooms are on the 12 and 14 floors and I could see illuminations pretty good right down to the globe floating across the lagoon, the breakfast is really easy in the morning, I normally use a little tray and take it back to the room, the balcony rooms are in the wings which go up tp the 9 floor and the view is ok but not great of illuminations. I have had a balcony room with cl access but it is a long way to go down and change elevators to great to the lounge. Hope this helps, have a great stay. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
