We'll be sleeping with the fish for the first time this Nov. and I was wondering what destinations are on the boat route, and for early risers such as we will there be much of a wait for a boat to MGM? Does it happen often that there are crowds at the dock such that some have to wait for the next boat?

Thanks,

The boats from the S/D run to Epcot, MGM, and the other Epcot resorts (Y&BC and Boardwalk). The boats run every 15-20 minutes, so the wait isn't long at all. Boats start running an hour before the park opens, so if MGM opens at 9AM, the boats will start running at 8.

Hope this helps! :)

Although we usually stay at the BWV, we often get on or off the boat at the Swan/Dolphin dock. We've never encountered so many people there that those waiting had to wait for a second boat to go to MGM or EPCOT. However, you will almost certainly have to wait for a boat (or two or three) at the MGM dock if you are taking the boat home after Fantasmic.

FWIW, many people walk back and forth to MGM from the Swan/Dolphin. There's a lighted walkway on the BWV side of the canal. I'd guess it's about 3/4 of a mile from the Dolphin boat dock to the entrance of MGM. We often walk from the BWV and find it to be faster than waiting. And for me, it is a lot easier to keep moving than to stand still.

Enjoy your trip! The Dolphin is a very convenient location!
