Does anyone get souvenirs for family members BEFORE they leave for Disney? I did this last year, for a few kids (age 2-10) that we needed a little something for. They had some really great stuff and no one, could tell the difference.;)

Hi. Our girls are now 15 and 19. We always drive down and last year on our first nights stop, I gave them a Disney Style goodie bag.Things they could use while traveling and on holidays. They loved it, now next Feb. they will be 16,20 and then probably the 20 year old's boyfriend (23). I better start now. I am saving up to buy one of those two screened DVD player for our van so movies would be a good idea. At least for christmas I can look for Disney stocking stuffers.

I was shocked at some of the cute things I got! And they even had a Disney bag for me to put it in. :thumbsup2 I kind of felt cheap doing this at first, but these kids are young and really could care less where I got it. Of course they are licensed products....so Disney is getting some money out of it too. I would rather save my money, for special things at Disney, for my own kids to remember their trip.;)

I love Dollarama for Disney stuff.....they add new Disney stuff all the time! S

We have 5 kids and 9 grandkids any money we can save for our Disney trips we do. We not only buy from the dollar stores we also go to the Disney store in Square One to buy them presents. They do not know the differance and we have more money to spend in Disney.:hippie:

I am the luckiest mother of a teenage girl alive!

My dd14 understands the value of a dollar. As a result, she shops at Walmart, Dollarama and always looks for sales at other stores. I've often witnessed her looking a $50 shirt and saying, "I'll buy it when it's on sale." And sure enough, it goes on sale and she is very pleased with her purchase.

She has her own mind and uses it wisely. [except when she hates me heeheehee]

I am very proud of my gal! S

I too am a pre-buyer of souvenirs.

I started doing it about 3 years. The Disney store had some really cute things on sale about a month before we went. I got t-shirts, PJ's and socks plus note pads and pencils. Since then I have done it 3 times and have already started for this years trip in June.

I just bought t-shirts at the Disney store for $7 each and in January I bought a ton of stuff at Dollarama.

My kids are older (18 and 9) they bring their own spending money on vacation but they get a kick out of getting the stuff that I give them. Some of it they know about in advance and some of it is a surprise.

I really like the idea from 'Disney Ontario' about the bags....I'll steal that one if know one minds.:rolleyes1

I've read that a lot of people do this, sounds like a great idea to me!

I get a lot of fun out of doing this. The first time I kept it secret from the girls and after they had packed their suitcases I opened them and put the things inside. So after we arrived in our hotel they opened the suitcases and they each found a Cinderella Disney Store bag with a few goodies inside.

Now they know I do it so it's only truely fun for me.;) However, having pre bought t-shirts they have no desire to buy t-shirts at WDW. They like to look but that's all.

We did this last year too, my mil bought all of us disney tshirts from the disney store in square 1 and we wore them on the plane. I had also bought some licensed shirts from Wal Mart for the kids, and everything disney I could find from the dollar store, including autograph books and pens, flashing pins etc...plus a bunch of glowing bracelets and necklaces. We let the kids pick a pin from each park we visit, and then one big souviner at the end of the week. It worked out great, and the kids weren't always whining about buying all sorts of trinkets.
