Hi I am arriving at MCO on Saturday afternoon :cool1:

I had booked a rental with Dollar and then a slightly cheaper rate showed up on Alamo. The Alamo rate is about $20 cheaper. I have rented from Dollar before but not Alamo. Does anyone have any input on which ressie I should keep and which I should cancel?

We like Alamo because you can choose your own car from a row of cars that are designated by the size you reserve. If you've reserved a full size then go to the row marked full size and pick the car you want. The keys are in them. Drive to the exit booth and pass in the paperwork.
If you don't use a coupon you can check-in online at home, print the paperwork, by pass the rental desk and walk right to the garage, pick out your car and pass in everything along with your license and credit card at the exit booth.
If you do have a coupon you can use the kiosk near the rental desk and still pick your own car.

Check your Alamo rate again -

there was an email with a $50 off on a 5 day or more rental

Alamo coupon

combine that with the code sunpromo and your rate should be really great!! We have always been very happy with Alamo

Thanks for the info, but I booked my rental months ago and my rate is $103/week. So, since now they are over $400/week, re-booking is not an option. Can this coupon be applied to exisiting ressies?

wow thats a great coupon, but doesnt apply to my dates. I have used both alamo and dollar. I would choose alamo if I had to pick, but would still go with dollar if I had to. Dollar did try the insurance upsell and didnt have the car class we reserved when we arrived, but that was 2 years ago. Have used alamo twice since then and loved how you could pick your car from the row and the service is fast. Check in a the kiosk even with coupon, they never asked for it even though i had it printed out. have fun!
