Just got a fairly good deal on a convertible with Dollar, seriously thinking about it. But have never used Dollar at mco. How have your experiences been. I joined fastlane already (just in case, member of them all). Clean cars? Insurance hard sell? Too much time comparded to national Ea?

Thanks for your help, Mky (die hard Ea fan, looking to expand) princess: ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I've had good experience with both Nat EA and DOllar. In the fastlane I was not even asked about insurance and then I got my car in about 5 minutes-only 1 person in front of me. No hassle or waits. THere were about 15 people in the regular line at the time. EA is great for picking out a car and no hassles, but realize that all national cars(EA and others) wait in line at the checkout booth AFTER you get your car. This can be fast or slow(ok slow was like 20 minutes which really isn't that bad, but seemed that way) Dollar takes a little more time up front then you are on your way in about the same time as EA.

Thanks, Julfre!

I never thought of it that way, we have waited in some really long long lines in that garage for ea service sometimes. :earseek: Once they were argueing a really good price I got and he said either go into the counter now, or take your chances when you come back? They let us park the car with our stuff in it and we went in, but we back up traffic for about 10 to 15 minutes in garage because the guy was alone (11pm) and he could not get the codes I had to work. Got to the counter, after locating someone from national (no one at the counter) the had to get a supervisor (from the other terminal) and then she could "fix" it {315.00 for 19 day rental ea / last july } She said "you got a beauty here" I said that why I'm waiting for you. Finally got done, back to the garage, now there is nothing on the ea, glad we got to keep our car, and there is still the line I created, finally we get out of there cause we have to wait to pull out also even thou we are done.

We have been using Dollar for 8 years and never had a major problem. Once the van smelled but we went right to the booth where you get the keys in the lot and they gave us a new van. They always seem to be pritty quick. I was asked once about insurance each time we rented from them. They are in the airport which is a must for us. We once used Hertz and it took so long to get a car because they are off premises. The lines are always short and we did not join fastlane. I used a discount from BJs warehouse this year and got a great price. Here is the website:

I have rented from Dollar several times and a couple of times have gotten a convertible. I also am a Fastlane member. No pressure in any way regarding insurance. No lines at the counter so it was quite fast to both pickup and then returning the cars. And the cars were literally brand spanking new, less than 3000 miles on them!! My last rental (April/May2004) I got a rate thru Southwest Air and it was $179.00 a week before taxes, cheapest rate anywhere I could find for a convertible. Needless to say I was very happy with my experience and I reccommend them.
