Dollar rent a car?

Do you think they will let us change cars without additional expense if our luggage does not fit? I guess the kids could have luggage on their laps. I really don't want to spend a ton on a four day rental. Very torn!

Probably not. They might let you downgrade to a full size with a large trunk, but, you never know. The Maxima is not a large car. The Crown Vic is a tank, if they even have one. IMHO, for what it's worth, I would opt for something in the full size category and hope for an Impala or, if you stay in the Premium category, hope for a Taurus. They do have the largest trunks.

Most companies rate the Taurus as a Premium. The Impala is a full size.

Does anyone have some insight as to Dollar's current fleet at MCO? In particular, I'd be interested in what their current Standard and Fullsize offerings are (and maybe midsize).

I am curious about this too.

We are currently sitting on a full size reservation at MCO with Dollar that is $100's cheaper than Alamo/National.

I am concerned because we always arrive late on a Friday night and all the companies seem to have very limited inventory then. We usually reserve a standard with Alamo and always are allowed to pick a van or suv (going on 12 trips now that we've rented, so no I don't think its just luck). A few times they have had ZERO cars and drove up a return for us and the attendant always picked out something really nice for us. Alamo. I am very worried about Dollar

We have both Dollar and Enterprise full size cars rented for next Sunday at noon. Any preference? Prices are pretty much even......Dollar is $153 and Enterprise is $163 for the week.

When I checked online yesterday Dollar was at the same price but Enterprise was now up $100!

Honestly, both had very mixed reviews on Yelp but it seemed Dollar had more
negatives......which I always take with a grain of salt

It is actually just luck that you have received those awesome upgrades. It depends totally on the time of day, day of the week and time of year as to what, if anything, a renter will be upgraded to. I find it difficult to believe they gave you a return before it was serviced. The MCO location has over 15K vehicles and the service area runs 24/7/365, something is usually coming in to the garage unless it is during the incredibly busy time of year (I have worked when the garage was almost totally empty). The attendants are there to make the customer happy and it is not unusual for them to upgrade IF there are no cars available in the reserved class or....they might just be being nice. We were told at the beginning of each shift what we could upgrade a customer to, sometimes it was great other times, nada.
