Dollar-- Minivan availability?

We've decided to book a minivan through Dollar for our trip next week, using the rate listed on Mouesavers ($199/week). However, now I'm reading that there is quite a car shortage at the Orlando airport Dollar location.

Would it be advisable to make a back-up reservation? Has anyone had any recent trouble obtaining a reserved minivan with Dollar at MCO?

Since it's for next week, why don't you trying calling them (at the MCO location) and see what they say? The number is 866-434-2226. (It's toll free).

Thank you, Carol! I just called and they said if a minivan was not available, they'd try and find something the same size or larger, or they would reimburse us the difference if we ended up at another rental car company. I'm sure Orlando is still recovering, so I'm not sure what we'll encounter, but that put my mind at ease a bit.

I just returned from Orlando yesterday. We rented a van from Dollar Thursday-Sunday. It was a very nice Dodge Grand Caravan with only about 700 miles on it. We had great luck at the counter. Couldn't have had a nicer attendant. He was pretty much going to give us whatever car we wanted LOL. We needed a van though, so had to stick with our original plan. I love Dollar

I just popped on here - crowds are bad? We are arriving same as you!

According to the Theme Parks board they are heavier than usual now. People are saying that the parks are pretty big.
