Is is worth joining this? I really don't want to use any other rental then National, but their rates are so high.

I think so. It's free. It takes a couple of days to receive an e-mail with your number and a couple of weeks to get the actual card. When I did it I also got two free upgrade coupons.

You still have to go to the counter, but there's a special line that's worth it if it's busy, and the paperwork takes hardly any time.

Dollar's rates are often lower than National's (and vice versa). I use whichever gets me the better deal.

I'm a huge fan of Dollar Express. At most airports, it greatly speeds up the rental process. Get off the bus, pick your car, show your drivers licence at the gate where they print your paperwork and you are off. On-line reservations are also a breeze.

I've only rented at MCO twice, and DE doesn't seem to have as big an advantage here. But it still saves a ton of time and aggrivation as nobody will try and sell you on the insurance and gas options.

I've been a member of Dollar Express for three years now, and have not had one complaint. I have rented several times at MCO, and while there's never been that long of a line, it is nice to have the ability to go right to the Dollar Express lane and be able to have the next available counter person take you.

The only complaint I would have is that every time that I've rented at MCO, I've never received a van that was parked in the Dollar Express spots, which are closest to the in-garage rental counter where you get your keys. I've never had a long walk, but why wouldn't they simply give you a vehicle that's been parked in the Dollar Express spots.

On a big positive. The minivans that I've always rented from Dollar have had 4K miles on them or less, and have been very clean.

It's Free, so go ahead and sign up. You're not losing anything by doing so.

Thanks for the info everyone. Looks like I will sign up.
Just one other question, why do they ask for 2 credit cards at sign up?

Would like to know more about joining Dollar Express....anyone can enlighten me?? :confused3 Thanks! :wave2:
