Dollar Express ?

I am a member of Dollar Express. However, for this trip I entered the oi1054 corporate number to give me the discount. Whenever I would sign in using my Dollar Express log-in it they would give me a higher rate than when I didn't log-in. Anway, my question is, since I didn't make the reservation using Express can I show it at the counter to speed things up or will it raise my rates there also? I just don't want to spend more time at the counter than I have to.

You should contact Dollar's customer service area via email or telephone. They will add your Dollar Express number for you without any problem.

To avoid the different rate problem in the future you should go ahead and initiate the reservation using your Dollar Express information but include the discount code. Your standard one click reservation won't include anything that you didn't initially input when you signed up.

I did this and the rate when I logged in using my Dollar Express number the rate was higher so I made the reservation without at a lower rate. When I called Dollar the rep said that she could not add my Dollar Express number because I used the Orlando Magic card corporate ID code to get the lower rate.
 
Your experience is entirely different than mine. I typically use different coupon codes in addition to my Dollar Express number and have had to ask Dollar to add one number or the other to my reservation from time to time. I've never had anyone decline to do that for me. Perhaps you talked with an inexperienced customer service rep OR maybe the CSRs that I deal with are just kinder than the one you got.

Wouldn't hurt I guess to try and call back and see what they say.
 
Not with Dollar, but with Thrifty... when I was pricing out SUV rentals, I used my Disney Corporate discount number... got a price of $44/day. Just to compare how much I'd be saving, I tried it again, without the Disney Corporate discount number. $25/day.

Hmmm... a negative discount? *shrug*

Needless to say, I think sometimes offers/discounts and memberships cannot be combined for technical reasons.
 
I made my reservation using the oi1054 code and then e-mailed Dollar asking them to add my Express number. I received a confirmation within a few hours that it had been done. I think as is the case everywhere else, some csr's are better than others. I say try, try again.

The oi1054 has been a good code. Got some good rates.
 
All the talk about using corporate code oi1054 influenced me to run a price quote and I was pleased that it produced a slightly lower price than the code I'd been using. So I save another $17 on our two-week Feb/Mar '08 rental.
