Dollar Express membership?

Does it help at Orlando airport? Is it free? Are lines shorter? Do they just give you the keys or do you go out to the parking area? Last time DH was upset that the desk (not Dollar) really tried to pressure him to take extra services, so we're looking into memberships.

Yes, it helps out at MCO and yes it's free.

As a Dollar Express member you go directly across the street from the terminal at the Ground Transportation level to the parking garage .and follow the signs to Dollar. Go right to the booth and they'll process you quickly (I was at the booth for about 4 minutes for my February rental pick-up). They'll direct you to the Dollar Express VIP area (right behind the booth) and your car's parking slot - we got a brand new Chevy Malibu with about 300 miles on it for this last trip. And then you proceed to the gate, give them your paperwork and you're on your way.
Including our visual inspection of the car it took us less than ten minutes from the time that we walked across to the garage to the time that we were driving away from the parking garage.

I have used Dollar Express on my past two trips. On the most recent trip, I was directed to the garage directly instead of waiting in line at the counter. Previous there was a separate line for Express members. I have never gotten the hard sell for pre-paid gas or toll transponders. In both cases, a specific vehicle was assigned to me. On my most recent trip, the van I was assigned was being used to store car seats so I was told to pick any vehicle between two rows and bring the key back.

The "go directly to garage" part is new since we were there January of 2009.
