Has anyone ever had any bad experence with them? I have never used them and I just want make sure they are ok.:goodvibes . Some other questions???

1.when you rent with your credit card how much dothey hold on top of the rental charges?
2. How easy/ hard is to find the agency at the airport (mco)?

We rented from Dollar in December of 06. We joined Dollar express at no charge and had all our preferences done ahead of time. Very good experience. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 They do not hold anything on your credit card for the reservation, The counter is on the lower level, very easy to find,:) :) and the cars are in the garage right across the street. Would use them again, but able to get a better rate through alamo. overall Dollar gets and A+++ from us.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I use Dollar most of the time now ( just seems to be cheapest for my needs). Never had a problem but I normally rent from their DTD hotel location and not MCO anymore.

As PP stated join the Express it's free and you can skip the lines

We had a great experience August 2007. We joined Dollar Express and had no waiting. We were even upgraded for free. :)

Love dollar rental. Good quality cars. Easy to find and return. I have used them at least 8 or 9 times.

Got good rates for Feb and May thru them.

I've had never had any trouble with dollar. We have used both locations at MCO and at DTD. We're using them this year because they are less than 1/3 of the cost of the other companies. We're paying $167 for the week, while the other companies are charging prices in the 600's!

Seriously. I just experienced this today. I was comparing rates for rental cars all through the BJ's Wholesale Travel site, and one came back in the $500's. And that was with the discount applied. I got a rental from Dollar for $180. I could probably do better, but it seemed like a real bargain after seeing all the $310, $359, $428 rates from the other companies. Are there people out there shelling out $400+ a week for a car?

We need a Car for 11 days over the July 4th holiday. So I do My normal ( Compact through Dollar Caliber very nice and roomy) and it comes out to $1053 for that time. Codes seem to not matter at all Then I do a look for any and I'm getting a Fullsize for $350 for the same dates and times and location.

I go to Expedia and they are all over $1000 for as well for any type of car any carrier. It's just crazy and you know I jumped on the Fullsize and reserved it. I hope to get it down and now DM and DsF are coming down on the 6th so would like to get something for 6 people but WOW the prices.

I just returned from Orlando this afternoon. Rented from Dollar. I use Dollar most of the time. Easy to get to...no taking a bus off-site. I am a Dollar Express customer...free and so nice to walk by the other line. I did the Lock, Low and Go which gives you an intermediate car or larger. We got the standard intermediate (Chrysler Sebring). It was fine for 2 of us and luggage for a week. I am not sure it would be big enough for 4 plus luggage for 1 week.
My advice is to always print out and take your online rental with you. Somehow it seems like all car rental companies come up with a higher amount at the counter and then when you produce your copy they "figure out" what they did wrong and give you the right price.

glad everyone else had great experience(s)

in Dec. (Sat 10:30 am) of last year we waited longer in the express line than the regular one would've taken (only 1 register set up to deal w/express customers):confused3

then had to have agent rewrite the contract, she kept trying to charge us for a prepaid tank of gas:headache: ; language barrier perhaps?

then, yet another line (shorter) @ garage

unless it's a fantastic wait, i cannot imagine wasting an additional 45 min. to rent a vehicle...even DS who is very laidback; said to go with EA or QS next time

We LOVE Dollar!! We went in December and I had changed my reservations 3 times as rates went down. We had booked an intermediate at $120. When we arrived we asked if they would upgrade us for free and they sure did! Got a brand new, never driven Dodge Magnum at our $120 rate! :woohoo: we had used Alamo when we went in 06, just terrible! :headache:

we just got back yesterday. we were given a car with 5 miles on it.
Just a suggestion they (all rental companies) will try to up sell you.

No I do not need the added insurance and no I do not want to be up graded. And oh ya I will return the car with full tank of gas.

And out I went, to a brand new car.

no, not if you are QS or EA; that's one thing that the completed master rental contract eliminates in a most effective manner.:thumbsup2

Dollar Express presented themselves the same way to me when i called them.:confused3

I have rented with Dollar on our last 5 trips down, and have never had a problem until our last trip in December. I am a Dollar Express member, and I think it is worth it, even though there normally is not a long line when we are travelling.

This past December, however, we had to go through three minivans before we found one that was acceptable:

- Van 1 had two front tires that were bordering on flat.
- Van 2 looked as though it had not been cleaned out with candy wrappers, crumbs, and rented car seats still remaining inside the van.
- Van 3 finally was acceptable, clean, and functioned flawlessly. It was a new '08 Grand Caravan with minimal miles.

I'm sure every car rental place can have a bad day, and it looks as though this was Dollar's. I'm still going to give them the benefit of the doubt. There return policy is very painless. You pull up in the MCO terminal garage, they give the car the once over and then provide you with a printed receipt.
