Dole Whips

I was looking at menus and there seems to be a lot of soft-serve choices at MK.

Besides Aloha Isle's dole pineapple whips and floats, there is Sunshine Tree Tavern's citrus swirl http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/menustt.html and
Enchanted Groove's strawberry swirl http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/menueg.html
and there are also the standard chocolate and vanilla soft serve places, Auntie Gravity's, Mrs. Potts, etc...

So from reading this forum, I think the favorite is the Dole Whips, right? There are so many soft-serve choices!!

Where's the Echanted Groove? The strawberry swirl and the citrus sound good. I'll have to try them both in April. I had the Dole Whip on our last trip. I didn't like it at all.:( However my son loved it. It's near the top of his must have snack list for our next trip.

I guess it depends if you like strawberry, orange or pinneapple as far as which place to go to for a soft-serve treat. I think they all a just soft-serve vanilla mixed with the fruit flavoring... But the DOLE Whip seems to be the hands-down favorite... I wish I could try all three, but my stomach is only so big... and I think I am just going to go for the pineapple dole whip.

The Enchanted Grove is next to the Mad Hatters Teacups and across from Cosmic Ray's.

The Citrus Swirl is available at the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland.

I don't know about the Dole Whip, but the citrus swirl from the sunshine tree terrace is actually orange swirled with fat free frozen yogurt. But don't let that scare you away! It's DELICIOUS!!!!

I know this doesn't help most people, but to the previous poster who said they wished they were available elsewhere -
They are! They are available at the Dole Plantation and the Royal Hawaiian Shopping center on Oahu!!:p That's where I had my first Dole Whip - I was so happy when I went to MK and saw them! Reminds me of being in Hawaii!

Ok, I just have to clarify here... Dole Whip is NOT a vanilla soft serve with a fruit flavor mixed in! Actually it is even dairy free! I used to sell it in my ice cream shop, and it was prepackaged, you just poured it into the machine!

It was so cold in Dec. during our last trip, we didn't have one. Now, I can't wait to get one when my Mom takes my 2yo dd and I back for a girls only trip next month!! (now I just have to tell my dh that we're going.... )

Thanks for clarifying, I was curious what a Dole Whip was exactly. I think the citrus swirl and the strawberry one are mixed with vanilla ice cream or yogurt. There are so many different ways of making soft-serve treats! Yummy!

beachesncream.... just have to say that I love your counter...and, i'm VERY jealous!!! ;) Have a blast!

Can't speak to the citrus swirl, but the strawberry swirl at Enchanted is vanilla soft serve swirled with strawberry - I want to say sherbet, but actually it was more like frozen slushy!!

I, too, want your countdown beachesncream!!;) Say "hi" to Mickey!!

In case anyone up north is interested, I'm pretty sure they have them at a local ice cream place in South Portland Maine. Its called Red's Dairy Freeze. I've gotten them for my son as a toddler because he didn't do dairy. They are sooooo good!

To me a dole Whip tastes like Orange Sherbet but with pineapple flavor instead of orange.

first dole whip, 10/29/89, i can remember it better than my first date with dw, and that was our honeymoon, and first of many trips to the world
have never missed since, an absolute must do snack, i have been known to have straight dole whip one day and go back next day just to mk to have the swirl

I liek Dole Whips but I love the orange juice/vanilla swirls even better. These are available when you exit the Tike Birds and the stand has been there FOREVER... I remember these from when I was a kid!

Hubby found the strawberry/vanilla swirl while we waited to watch the fireworks... YUM. I think I will have to consume all THREE of these next time I visit WDW!

I wonder if Dole Whip mix can be had from Dole? If it is a formula, you could theoretically make it up in a home ice cream machine. I also saw a recipe here on the Boards last year that the poster claimed was a good Dole Whip "substitute." Did anyone try it?
