I'll do my best, though I was a Dole Whip virgin until very recently. I believe that a Dole Whip itself is just pineapple soft serve ice cream. Very good, but even better is the Dole Whip float you can get which is the soft serve ice cream over pineapple juice. I think you can also get vanilla or even chocolate ice cream with your pinapple juice in the float. I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong on this.
Dole Whip Pineapple floats ROCK!! They really hit the spot on a hot day. Much more refreshing than a soft drink! I agree with the description from the previous poster!
I was SOOOO excited to try the Dole Whips on our last vaca after reading about them here. They are just soft-served pineapple ice cream. To be honest (no flames here...I know TONS of Disers LOVE them), I didn't find them to be anything special. It was good, but I wasn't that impressed.

Agree completely! Not impressed here, either, course once we got one we realized it's the same ice cream they have been serving at the State Fair of TX for years and years so it wasn't anything special to us.
What I love about them is that they are creamy and tart at the same time. They aren't icy like sherbet or bland like ice cream. I guess I'm just in the "Dole Whip Fans" category.
Although they taste like soft serve, dole whips are a dairy free dessert (plus low fat and cholesterol free), they are soy based. Don't let that deter you though, dole whips taste delicious and you wouldn't know you were eating something that was actually good for you.
Like one of the previous posters, I highly recommend the pineapple float with fresh pineapple juice, it's very refreshing. Plus it's nice to just get your Dole Whip and then find a nice shady place to sit and people watch in Adventureland during the busy part of the day.
