I had never heard of a Dole Whip until after our last Disney visit six years ago. That was long before I found these boards. But I did have two of them when we went to Hawaii for our 25th wedding anniversary last year.

We're not going to Disney again, but we will be back at Universal in June. Someone posted that there are Dole Whips at Menchies? Really? That would just be icing on the cake. :)

It's probably a pineapple ice cream/ yogurt. I have had "Dole Whips" at other places as anyone can order the mix online but it does taste different. Disney must have a magical way of making it.

Also, Menchies rotates their flavors so they may not have "Dole Soft Serve Sorbet" when you are there. Menchies website lists over 90 flavors and there is room at Universal for 18. Some flavors like pumpkin I would guess would be seasonal.

We have a Menchie's here in Niagara Falls and they DO have Dole brand pineapple frozen yogurt. It's good but it's frozen yogurt, so a little different tasting than the soft serve custard they use at WDW. They have sorbet as well. Menchie's changes out their flavors all the time so they may or may not have it at the one in City Walk when you're there.

Well, shoot. Guess I'll have to wait until we go back to Hawaii in 2017. I was getting all excited. :/

I'm not really a WDW or even much of a Florida visitor, but I saw this topic on the front page.

What many refer to "Dole Whip" is the Dole pineapple soft serve from Kent Precision Foods. They make it under license from Dole, and it's a non-dairy mix. What Menchie's locations have (and I've gotten it at a couple in California) is the same mix, although the preparation/equipment may affect how similar the experience is.

Make your operation a destination with Dole® Soft Serve. These mixes are bursting with big fruit flavor. It’s creamier than sorbet and doesn’t have the tartness of frozen yogurt. The result is a truly unique soft serve that satisfies customer cravings with intense fruit flavor that’s sweet and refreshing.

DOLE Soft Serve is proudly sold at Disneyland®, Walt Disney World® and the Dole® Plantation in Hawaii, as well as many other popular tourist destinations across the country. But any operator with a soft serve machine is encouraged to try Dole soft serve. Have you visited some of these soft serve locations that serve DOLE Soft Serve?

Menchie's doesn't indicate that it's frozen yogurt. They say it's dairy-free, gluten-free, and nonfat. What they have is pretty much what you'd get at a Disney park or the Dole plantation, although there's the chance that a particular location doesn't have it in its daily rotation.

I've seen this stuff sold at a booth at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk amusement park in Santa Cruz, CA. They sell it either in cups or as a pineapple juice float.

you could drive to the Polynesian and get one but that close and you might be tempted to actually visit the MK lol

Just as a follow up, there is no Dole branded frozen yogurt or sorbet that is designed to be used in a soft serve machine. "Dole Whip" is strictly a nondairy mix that uses coconut oil to approximate the consistency of dairy soft serve. They can still call it nonfat because the amount of fat is negligible.

I just went to a Menchie's and got the Dole pineapple soft serve. It was indeed labelled "sorbet" but there's no way that was correct. What I got was precisely the same as from a Disney park. I'm not sure why it was labelled as sorbet. Sorbet doesn't come out of a soft serve machine.

Looking on the menchies website under Flavors and nonfat, you can see the dole logo for their "soft serve" complete with the same ingredients as listed on Precision.

If only the other flavors used the coconut oil trick. There's nothing else I could find on the menu that my family can have since menchies uses corn syrup or HFCS in everything else I clicked on. Sad. And funny, since dole whip used to use corn syrup solids to get the creaminess, and it is one of the Disney foods that helped us hone in on what DH and DS react to so poorly. So they have now changed whole the rest of the "gourmet" soft serve/ fro yo world remains the same. Funny....
