I was at Kings Island the other day, and lo and behold, I found Dole Whip! My sister freaked out over getting this previously-Disney-only treat. I have no idea when we started serving it - I work there but I'm rarely on the side of the park that has the stand that serves it. My sister who had it 4 times on our last week-long trip confirms that this is the real thing! :cool1: Any other Cedar Fair parks getting Dole Whip or are we living in the Twilight Zone?

No way!!!! I am going to KI the weekend of Sept 17 for a work event-I will have to check it out-thanks for sharing! Where are they served in the park-the right or the left of the eiffel tower?

It was at the funnel cake stand right next to White Water Canyon, which is between Rivertown and Planet Snoopy, so right of the tower but you've got a little bit of a walk.

Come say hi to the airbrush stand! I'll be the one with the Sorcerer Mickey apron and paint on her face.

Not sure i could give up the blueberry ice cream they have

They do still have it dont they??

Never fear, blue ice cream isn't going anywhere. Neither is vanilla, even though there was some food color confusion during pink days. :rotfl2: There is also chocolate at several stands and a Graeter’s on International Street. The one stand with Dole Whip used to just have chocolate and vanilla.

Hey fellow buckeye! Ya wanna know what's weird...we have a little DariLand ice cream place that has been serving DoleWhip for years and it never even dawned on me it was the same until the other day...DUH! They have other flavors, did you know? Raspberry, Lemon, Peach....

Im sure i can make room for a dole whip and the blueberry ice cream :thumbsup2

Thanks for letting us know i probably would have missed it!

I've never had a Dole Whip, so I guess I now have another place to try one. As for the blue ice cream, I never thought it was that great, but it worked well when the Smurf ride was still there. When the Smurfs went away my desire for the blue ice cream went with it. Now I'm wondering if I should try it again sometime. I just have to think about these when I'm there and it's hot out.

I don't like pineapple, so I've never had Dole Whip either. But I know some people go mad for it. Blue ice cream seems to be one of those things you have to acquire a taste for as a kid. Even before I moved here, I'd visit family every year so it was always something to look forward to. I treat myself to a blue-vanilla twist with oreos every time I need cheering up at work. I would suggest getting a twist if you aren't big on the blue, it is really too sweet by itself.

Heehee...I giggle every time someone mentions Smurfs and blue ice cream. :lmao: There once was a QSFB associate who was asked how Kings Island made our ice cream blue...he jokingly told the kid it was made of Smurfs, and the child cried , resulting in the associate getting fired. That poor child.

I totally need to go to Michigan's Adventure (a cedar fair park) and see if they serve dolewhip! I love that stuff. Had it the first time in 2009 at Disneyland and couldn't get enough!

I never thought of making ice cream from Smurfs, just that the color was themed to the Smurf ride next to the ice cream. Although if Gargamel made the ice cream, he might have wanted to use Smurfs in the recipe.

That blue ice cream completely covered in sprinkles was always my favorite Kings Island treat. I remember as a kid getting off the Smurf ride and getting some.

we're just in Columbus so I guess if I fall in love with the Dole Whip in WDW in 10 days then I won't have to go far to find it :thumbsup2

Oh, jealous!! No Dis for us this year, and craving the Dole Whip....

You can get Dole Whip in Cincinnati also. General Custard's in Western Hills has had it for a few years now. They rotate flavors weekly but the pineapple always sells out quickly.

It seems that almost every dairy bar we go to these days has Dole Whips and in other flavors besides pineapple. But they just taste better in the MK!

There's a tiny little place here in Michigan that has had it for years. A few other flavors too. But just the soft-serve. They don't have the floats with pineapple juice.

Where? I am in Grand Rapids.

To think I only live 5 blocks from KI and didn't know this.....guess where we are going this weekend!!!:cool1:
