Forgive me if someone has already posted this, but I just bought something today called a Fruit Parfait, made by Dole. It is fruit and cream (and supposedly low fat).

They had different fruit flavors as I recall, but the one that caught my eye was the pineapple and cream.

I put mine in the fridge and have to admit, it reminds me of a Dole Whip...not exactly, but you get the essence of it. Maybe if you froze it for a short while it would be even better.

Anyway, just had to share... :flower:

By the way, they are in those little plastic containers that applesauce would come in, and come four to a pack.

I have read so many posts about how good the Dole Whip is on a warm day--but we are going to be there next month and even if it's cold out, I'm going to have one! Thanks so much for reminding me of them. Honi :)

Thanks for posting I saw it in my store but I was too chicken to try. Now I have to go and get some.

My favorite is the pineapple float with vanilla/pineapple mix "dole whip." YUMMY! I will be looking for the Fruit Parfaits by Dole. Are they in the pudding section, or refrigerator section?

Yummm...Dole Whips are the best! Thanks for the tip. BTW, I'm curious too to know what section you found them in.

:flower:

I found them on the aisle that would have canned fruit. They have a section with fruit in plastic containers (like kids would take in a lunch to school) and they were there.

Hope this helps! :flower:

Over the by Teacups, there used to be a place that sold something that was sort of like the Dole Whip but was strawberry instead of pineapple. Is that still there?

Hmmm, so they're not cold? They sound good...thanks for the info, I'll definitely look next time I go to the store! :flower:

Oooh, I'll have to try one. Thanks for the suggestion :flower:

Hi, my name is Joshsmom, and I'VE NEVER HAD A DOLE WHIP!!! There it is--out in the open on a message board. My deep, dark, Disney secret that has been hidden for YEARS!!! I am going to HAVE to put this on my itinerary for May!! In the meantime, I'll look for the "close to" version in the store to get me psyched up!!! :goodvibes Thanks for the tip!!!

From being a huge Dole Whip fan, I can tell you nothing comes close.
BUT you got me thinking......
Since the pineapple is dairy free, I am thinking it is more of a sorbet. If I had to recreate a DW, I would get the best pineapple sorbet I could find, let it soften a few minutes then whip it in a food processor or a blender to make it smooth. You could also serve it with softened vanilla ice cream ....this will give you the twist flavor which is pineapple and vanilla. For the real thing you need to serve it with a fresh pineapple spear!

I think I might try this myself! Thanks for the idea!

I have to agree that it is not exactly like a Dole Whip...just sort of gives you the "essence of it" if that makes sense. I LOVE your idea of how to best recreate a true Dole Whip.

In the meantime, anyone who wants to try this parfait thing should definately chill it in the fridge...it tasted better that way.

THANKS SO MUCH....now I have Dole Whip on the brain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had one at Disney Land this fall and let me tell you it was truley one of my best memories from that day! Two parks, same whip, DELICIOUS!

The first time my husband and I went to WDW, he discovered Dole Whips. I would keep losing him, only to find him buying another one!! So now whenever we go, if I can't find him, I automatically head for the Dole Whip stand. :rotfl2:

hi
on the intercot site under info central ,disney dining recipes, there is a recipe for pineapple dole whip. it tastes really good :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I'm going to look for them next grocery run! Sounds yummy!

ok folks, have not had a Dole whip, yet. Need to try it out in 3 weeks...where is the stand?
Thanks!!
Lisa
