Updated Happy Dance! DW and I originally set our sights on Nov 8-13 for our return to WDW this year since the boys had half days on 9th & 10th and no school on 11th...however, it wasn't fitting into our budget, timing wise...soooo, we are now going for the big one, Christmas Day! Wahoo!!!
we've always wanted to surprise the kids with a trip to Disney under the tree, actually departing for the World on the 25th, well that dream is now going to be reality...yay. We opted out on the idea in the past because we didn't want to go during high (highest) crowd season. However, we re-evaluated the situation and have decided to do the opposite of our 2008 trip to WDW. In 2008 we hit the parks after lunch and stayed till close. The mornings were our sleep in, hang out, swim, arcade, relax time then we would eat a TS ADR located at a different resort, hitting the parks around 3pm....since it was during low crowd season, we could get away with such a leisurely schedule.
Well, never say never. We swore we would never become rope drop commandos but our year in SoCal having resident AP's taught us otherwise. We became fans of getting to the park at opening and enjoying the morning.
Sooo, we are now braving the week between Christmas and New Years. Our plans is to do EMH AM's at rope drop and packing it up by 1pm'ish with lunch ADR's at 2pm, then head back to resort to chill for the rest of the day. We also will "embrace" the fact that it is going to be swamped, enjoying what we can and not fretting over what we don't get to.
DW and I are already out of our minds with excitement to spring this one on the boys Christmas morning! it's gonna be a long countdown for us.
