I just broke down and ordered the battery grip for my 40D. Tired of reaching over the top for portrait pics. :)

I got the battery grip for the 30D (same grip) and I still reach over for portrait shots! :lmao: Just can't get the hang of it for some reason. When I do remember that the extra shutter button is there, it is great! :thumbsup2

Well, it arived today. It definately adds some weight, but I got the canon wrist strap for it as well, and it actually feels better in my hand when holding on to it like I would walking around.

I also like that it comes with a AA adaptor, for those just incase moments.

I'll let you know what I think after a day of shooting with it on saturday.

Sweet! I've been considering the grip as well since I do shoot a lot of portraits. I'm just worried about the extra size...I already have to carry a lot of gear around..lol.

I have not had one of those moments in quite a while...

can I buy some time to get out for some shooting?

Ditto on that! I've had my vertical grip since I got my 20D and now use it on my 40D. The grip really helps give the camera a solid feel! Also it can really balance out the camera when using a larger lens.
