Doing our 3rd trip right away, and am planning where and when. We've already had 10 days in DL in past 5 years, and will be doing 4, maybe 5 more right away. Anyways, schedule looks like as follows.

May 22 arrive, DL from 1-9
May 24 family goes to Seaworld without me, :( I'm busy all day.
May 26 (I know, Memorial Day), DL
May 27 Magic Mountain
May 28 Universal Studios
May 29 DL
May 30 KBF
May 31 either DL or KBF Soak City
June 1 DL

May 22 and June 1 are DL for sure, and May 24 is SW, but I am wondering about Memorial Day or Saturday, May 31. Those will be 2 of the busier days in DL according to the crowd index, but we've been there before and haven't done either of the 6 flags, KBF or Universal Studio's before. Would it make a difference at those parks to be there on the holiday, or a saturday(thereby getting DL on quieter days), as opposed to mid week. We have 2 boys, 13 and 10 who love rollercoasters, but won't know about how much into the extreme coasters until they get there.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks

My boys and I are big coaster fans as well. That trip looks very similar (and awesome I must say) to what we do, but we will usually go to SFMM/KBF in the morning and then DL in the evening/night since we take shorter trips.

You might want to hit up some of the coaster sites and study up on ride strategies, Flash/Fast passes, etc.. For instance, Ghostrider (wooden coaster at KBF) and Green Lantern at SFMM can be pretty brutal rides. Most wooden roller coasters (and some steel) will not be as rough if you ride more towards the front. And rides like X2 will be less rough on the inner seats toward the front. Also, learning which side to place your head on coming into and out of turns will help with the head banging. (Head banging will be less severe toward the front as well)

And if it will be crowded hit up Xcelerator at KBF or Full Throttle (aka Yolocoaster) at SFMM at opening first since those rides are not included on the Fast Lane/Flash Pass systems and will likely have longer lines later.

Have fun!!

I would bear in mind that KNB has a Fast Lane pass and SFMM has a Flash pass for line skipping. If I were to be in the parks on a busier day I would consider one of these parks.

Do Knotts either on a weekday or buy the Front line pass..$35. for 3 or more. $45 . if under 3 tickets.
We did Knotts on a Sat.. in April and it was crazy.. my crew only got 3 rides that day, the rest was in lines.
This time we did in on Thursday, and the lines were great... we got the pass and my husband said that we could have done without them... not sure what a May crowd will look like.. but if you cant get the pass , then do a weekday..

As for Uni.. again they sell a front line pass. much more to buy this pass... approx $130. but worth it , if your priority is the rides... if you just want to do the tours and get on one or two rides then dont bother. but again try for a weekday..
