We are going on our first back to back in August. We would like to do laundry on the day of the start of second cruise because I'm assuming the laundry room would be empty. Question for those who have done back to backs- do you have access to your room when you reboard or do you have to wait until the rooms are ready at 1? Also, if we are allowed back into our rooms, would we be able to navigate the hallways to the laundry room while they are still cleaning the rooms?

The last b2b we did was before Covid but once we were back onboard we had access to our room. That will only work if you have the same stateroom as the first cruise. We are also doing a b2b on the Wish in early February.

We do have the same stateroom :)

You will likely have access to your stateroom, but they will ask you not to go in and out and other guests will not have access. If your stateroom is next to the laundry, that might work, but if the laundry room is on a different deck you may not have access to it.

I understand wanting to find a time when the laundry room is not busy. If you are doing BTB on a 3/4, the laundry rooms are unlikely to be very busy at any time as those are short cruises. If your cruises are longer, perhaps laundry on last the evening of the first leg, especially after 10pm. Or right when the staterooms open on the second leg.

Oh thing I notice, the laundry can be busy one the 3 night. I done a b2b once, I notice those who were coming after being at theme park for 4 days, they all started doing laundry the first day onboard. It gets quite busy. Unless living close like Orlando, I don't recommend 3 night. We'll that is unless you already sailed 10+ cruises and just want to be on the ship and scheduling/cost also works.

Thanks for your response. That makes sense. I may want to do the laundry the last night of the first cruise or early morning before we disembark. Are the laundry rooms open 24 hours?

The laundry rooms are open 24 hours a day. Doing it early in the morning of disembarking from the first leg or immediately in the afternoon on the first day of the second leg once the hallways are open will most likely result in a fairly empty laundry room. You will have access to your laundry and the machines when the vast majority of people have put out their luggage for pickup before debarkation from the first leg or are waiting for their luggage to arrive at their rooms at the start of the second leg. Don’t forget that not all laundry rooms are created equal as some have a lot more machines than others. Even though there was a laundry room a few doors down from us on deck 10 where we always stay on our cruises, we used the deck 9 facilities a lot more often because of the additional machines. https://disneycruiselineblog.com/2013/01/onboard-self-and-full-service-laundry-and-dry-cleaning/
