I've read that they group all of the Land/Sea reservations together in the same area of the Polynesian. Does anyone know what area of the resort they put you in?
When we did the land portion at Poly we submitted a room request prior to our vacation (we booked through DCL). Disney gave us a room in the building that we requested.
Things may have changed since 2001 but I'm sure it won't hurt to submit a room request.
I just realized my signature may be a bit confusing for you. We booked a 7 day land/sea package with Poly as a resort in Feb. 2001 and we had stayed 3 nights at the Port Orleans before our 7 day package.
In May of 2002, we did a Land/Sea, booked thru Disney, and we got the building & floor/view that we wanted. I can't imagine how or why they would book them together. Some of the Poly's buildings are non-smoking, some allow smoking, so that right there would make it awfully hard to group all the Land/Sea's together.
Check this website for info on the Poly, pick a location, and request it when you book: http://tikiman2001.homestead.com
I read that they group everyone together to expedite picking up the luggage for transfer to the ship. I will do some research and try making a request. Any suggestions on where to request (non smoking) it's our first time so we're open for suggestions.
Thanks,
Vickie
Vickie,
Click on that website that I posted up above. He has more info on the Poly than you could ever want to know. I'm trying to remember the two buildings that allow smoking....but I can't.
It's on the site, though, if you look through all of the info on the longhouses (buildings).

Nuvalu & Niue allow smoking, none of the other do, except maybe the 3rd floor of Hawaii, one of the concierge longhouses.
We requested the room that we wanted in 2001 at the CRB and we were not in the same building or are with the other cruisers. In fact I did not see some of them until itwas time to catch the bus to the ship. I think if you ask Disney will do everything it can to make you happy.
We have done two land-and-sea packages, with the Poly as our resort choice. Both times we had Tokelau, which was an awesome location. Close to everything and we had a partial lagoon view to boot!
I have to agree. This was the building we were in and it is a great location. Close to the Transportation Center and to the laundry so I got to do a couple of loads of laundry before we got on the ship. HTH.
