We are going to the theme park with our 17 year old son. What should our strategy for touring the parks be. We have been there many times so my husband and i dont care as much about the rides. Just want to soak in the atmosphere. Can we give him our fast passes?

Having been there with a 17 year old son (our only child) quite a few years ago (he's now 32 with a family of his own), we didn't have FastPasses but really enjoyed the parks together. We did give his freedom when he wanted it but for the most part, he wanted to stay with us. There are plenty of things you can do together or, just on your own while he enjoys a Fastpass or two. For example, if he wants to ride Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, you can send him to the single riders line while you do the tiger trail or just have a sit nearby. Same thing at the Studios and Rock and Roller Coaster.

He's 17 and at the time we took our trip with our son, we thought that was the last time we would be at Disney World with him. Nope - he has taken his own family to the World and has insisted we go with him. Enjoy the time as a family and realize that the est is yet to come.

Can we give him our fast passes?

Yes.

Nowadays, that would consist of trading with him your individual MagicBands for him to enter the FP+ line (if you are using MagicBands)
-or-
trading with him your individual Park Tickets for him to enter the FP+ line (if you are using Park Tickets.)

Thank you. I was getting sad that he may not want to go with us as he got older, but its nice to hear about your son. I am hoping we can do a lot of meals and shows together, but let him go on the rides by himself.
