Hello!
This will be my first trip to Disney in a REALLY long time. I will be spending my mornings on my own, any suggestions? I could really use some help planning here... :sunny:
Thanks.

I would do all of the things that you wouldn't normally be able to do while with other people. Ride all the rides you love again and again. If your husband hates shopping go to the downtown disney area and spend hours there. Go to the spa at the grand floridian and get a massage. Take a swim at the pool. Go to a character breakfast and meet the characters and watch the joy on the childrens faces around you.

Buy a Disney book... biography on Walt... Hidden Mickey book... history of Disney world... etc. Find a nice lounger by the pool (I personally love the hammocks at CBR) and get lost in a book....

I took my first ever solo trip May 2005 and am dying to do it again. I thought I'd be bored for ten days, but wasn't even for a minute. I did three backstage tours (KTTK, Backstage Safari, and Around the World on a Segway). You can eat places the rest of your family won't try and talk to the CMs. You can just sit outside Casey's, eat a hot dog, gaze at the castle, and people watch. You can surprise people with a little Disney magic. I had a ball ordering something like a Dole Whip, then paying for the people's behind me. The look on their faces are priceless. Carry little glow bracelets or bubbles to give some little kid who's having a melt down. Volunteer to take pictures of people so their whole family can be in their photograph. Shop until you drop. Buy the hidden Mickey book and look for hidden Mickeys. Explore the resorts. Snack your way around the world. Relax and take WDW at your own speed taking time to look for and enjoy the little things.

Sounds great! :cloud9: I can't wait! I love the idea of bringing little toys for other people's kids! I can still remember a trip to Disney as a little kid...my brothers would get overtired to the point where my parents took pictures of their meltdowns!!! :rotfl2: we have a great shot of my little brother lying on the ground in a mickey T face down pounding on the ground right in front of the Castle. Ah...the things family memories are made of... :grouphug:

Hi there!

I'm moving this over to the Adults and Solo Travelers board. Please check there for further replies.

Happy planning!

Doing WDW solo is great. You get to do what you want, when you want. Go on attractions you want or skip them all together. You get to dine where and when you want.

I would make a list of the attractions/shows you really want to see and do those each morning.

ENJOY!!!

I agree with doing all the things you can't/wouldn't do with other people. When DH and I go to WDW, I almost always spend morning solo since he golfs. Sometimes I go to MK and do Fantasyland (for some reason, riding Dumbo doesn't thrill him), or go to AK and do TS. Shopping is a good idea, also a backstage tour. Often what I do is ask him "What don't you care to do?"

Thanks. We are going to pick apart the park maps and select things that we want to do together, and things that he wouldn't mind missing (there's not a lot of that, but he'll have to give up on some since he doesn't have enough time to do it all... ). That way we'll have a game plan ahead of time and avoid the "I can't believe you did that without me!"s. :)
