Had to do a little dance  Just got back from the Orthodontist with DS16... he's getting his top braces off & into a retainer on 6/21!! :teeth: Still a long way to go (retainer time, bottom braces & then bottom retainer until he's 21!!) but it was so cool to see a little peek of light at the end of the tunnel!!! Geez... just about time for DS10 to start!

:cheer2: :cheer2:

I will  with you because I know your pain!! Well, I think the kids get the most pain but we get the wallet pain!

We currently have 2 in braces and the 3rd is getting closer and closer to that stage! Luckily DD #1 only had to have an upper appliance.

Just imagine the $$ we will all have when the kids are all grown and can support themselves!

Congratulations. Braces, what a long, long road. My DS goes tomorrow and DD next week. Both should be done by the end of the summer.
I love your pet web page. All the pets are adorable.

Hurray for your son! I had braces for 2.5 years and when they took the tops ones off I couldn't stop smiling! My teeth were so big and straight and white, it was the most amazing feeling. I didn't even mind the bottom ones as much after the top ones came off. It was nice being able to smile again without a tin grin!

as the mom of a daughter that got in a horrible accident and lost some permanent teeth, congrats. I will truely be in tears the day I see my daughters teeth all put back together again. Just waiting for her to be able to be fitted for a flipper appliance is killing me.

Must say, you are all wonderful parents for giving your kids a great smile! :)

I am an adult in braces, having them well over three years now. But I just found out I may be getting them off in the late Spring or early Summer!! I can't imagine having straight, non-braced teeth. Of course, I will be in full-time retainers for a LONG time, though! :teeth:

But it is worth everything to have a great smile! :)

Yippee for your ds!!! Good job. My dd, 12, has been in ortho since she was 6!! Has both uppers and lowers at this point, and trying to get the jaw to move on forward. She came home from her appt back in Feb upset because they told her that if she had worn her elastics all the time, as she should have, her braces would have come off in March. Then March came and they told her that she wasn't in 'compliance' so if they didn't see any improvment they would put in metal springs to take the place of the elastices. She did better, so get a months reprieve. She hasn't had elastics out of her mouth for more than 10 minutes since her last appt. Next one is next week....here's hoping they see some good improvement and she can be 'metal free' for her 13th b-day in WDW in Oct!!!!
So, kids....keep those elastics in, all the time!!!!!

I know the feeling. DD (14) gets her top and bottom off this Thursday. Actually, I'm a little nervous because I know I'll FREAK if the teeth start shifting.
