Hello DIS,

I've decided to surprise my little brother with a trip to New York City to see Wintuk (a Cirque du Soleil.)

We're taking the Megabus in from Pittsburgh overnight, and will be in Manhattan from 7am to 11pm, with the show starting at 7.

Anyone have ideas for a teenage boy to do in NYC? I'm sure we could find things to do on our own, but its always best to have a game plan. Also, my things to do in NYC at 24 years old would be a tad different from his 17 year old stuff.

Also, ideas for food would be great. I know pizza will happen for sure, and no doubt a few times...but any good restaurants. Just no seafood, as we are both kinda picky :-/

Thanks,
Brad

King Tut. Top of the Rock. A bus tour through the city. You have enough time not to wing it. Restaurants are a plenty. I have favorites all over the city. popcorn::

And I'm assuming you'll both sleep the majority of the time on the bus.

My 15yo son enjoyed just walking around Times Square, including the MTV store, Hershey Store, etc. He really loved ESPN Zone, but that's gone now. He also enjoyed walking around Grand Central Station and through Central Park (depends on the weather. Now my DS is a bit of a geek, but he absolutely enjoyed the Museum of Natural History, MOMA, and the Public Library...:lmao: Pretty sure those are not the normals though.

As for eating, DS enjoyed the Deli's the most. They had great sandwiches and sides. IF you really want a sit down and don't mind paying, look into Jekyll and Hyde.... http://www.jekyllandhydeclub.com/home.htm

Have a great time... (I have tons of restaurants also, but really the deli's and Grand Central are great)

Carmine's in the Theater District is a great choice for lunch. It's strictly family style at night so it's not good for just two people, but at lunch they have plates that feed 2 people and sandwiches if you want your own meal. I just got back from NYC last night and it was the best meal of the trip and the best value as well. It's right next door to the Tut exhibit too.
