Doin it in Style @ The Poly! September 2010 Here we Come!!!

Hello All

So I have been promising you for a while DLP pics and without further ado, here you go :goodvibes

Excuse the quality but our camera at the time wasn't all that.

I have two folders on the computer, one taken from Dave's camera and the other from mine. I'll start with Dave's pics:-

Sleeping Beauty's Castle
PIC_0018.jpg

You could actually get your face painted in that pumpkin!
PIC_0019.jpg

Just like Cinderella's Castle, Sleeping Beauty's also has stained glass windows depicting her story.
PIC_0020.jpg

I love this pic, I actually had a card made up for Dave with this image, wonder if he still has it.

PIC_0022.jpg

There is also a dragon under the castle and it moves too! :scared1:

This was our room in the Disneyland Hotel. Such a wonderful hotel, v similar to the Grand Floridian.
PIC_0032.jpg

Mickey's Cafe, we ate here quite alot as the character interaction was so much better than in the parks.

Our hotel at night.

Think this hotel is called Newport and is quite similar to Yacht & Beach Club

Disneyland Hotel (Or the Pink Palace as I like to call it)

Will update with my photos tomorrow :)

Love the DLP pictues, but I'm not sure of that giant pumpkin right in front of the castle:confused3 I was there in March so I missed that. I didn't know there was a dragon under the castle! That looks so cool! And you stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. That has to be the coolest hotel of Disney hotels because of the location. You are literally in Disneyland! DLP is such a pretty park. Much lovlier than the MK I think (I know I can get in trouble for saying that on these boards!) Too bad that other park there is so lame. (I can't even remember its names. That shows how impressed I was with it.):rolleyes1

Thanx, we had a great time when we went and to stay in the Disneyland Hotel was awesome. We got such a great deal too, but nowadays you have to spend a small fortune if you want to stay there :sad2:

The dragon under the castle is very cool and not that well known. Dave's aunt goes quite regularly now and she has only just found out that it was there

I couldn't agree or disagree with you on whether that MK is better than WDW, only because it was an age ago that we went and I can't really remember it that well. But Space Mountain (as we discussed before) is way way waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than WDW and I don't care if I get flamed for saying that :cool2:

I agree with you on the other park, it didn't really have that much of interest when we went, apart from Rockin Rollercoaster which was the best ride there, they also played other rock/metal songs such as Linkin Park which was awesome (love me a bit of LP).

Thank you for sharing these DLP photos!:goodvibes It's interesting to see how the characters look slightly different than in the US parks.. like ursula!

I'v still not been to DLP - I keep trying to win holidays there whenever I see a contest on UK Disney website lol!

Just last week I priced up a two night trip there in September.. Eurostar train from London, park tickets and two nights at Newport hotel (room only) ... was £800!!! :scared1: - that's like two flights to Orlando for a week or more! :rotfl:

Then there's the cost of food & drink which won't be great for us at the moment with the Euro/£ rate lol.

Emma princess: xx

ps - yay for the PotC triology Bluray!! I have that sat in my Amazon basket.. it's such a good price, but we have all three movies separately on DVD lol.
Please could you two review the Bluray versions for me so I can decide whether to buy it?! ;) x

I think the villains have a different look to them, got a few more that you will see, but will be posting those tomorrow.

Thats exactly what me and Dave say. We might as well just pay the extra and go to Florida for longer.

Did you price up the Disneyland Hotel, you will get an even bigger shock when you see the total

It would be cool to win a trip and good luck to you for future entries pixiedust:

Dave says to get it, its supposed to be one of THE Blu-ray's to buy. We also don't usually tend to buy BR's if we already have them on DVD, unless it is really worth it. We just bought Iron Man too. But we can let you know what we think either way :goodvibes

Wow spooky that Tom just bought it :wizard: It is the one with Natalie Portman and also Gary Oldman, who is a plays a freaking crazy pyscho cop, but brilliant acting. I think this was the movie that launched Natalie's career.

We haven't been to DLP for a long time and really want to go back. Do you think you will ever visit?

Great DLP pics! We probably won't ever go there. If we were ever going to go, it would've been for our honeymoon. Maybe for our 25th anniversary! Or if we hit lotto....

Morning All

I forgot to add last night that I preordered the Photo Pass for $99.95 :dance3: Am so glad that they put the offer back up. I was afraid that we wouldn't be able to do it again this year.

I can't remember from last time, but when do they charge you for the pass. Now, a month before you go or when you order the CD after your vacation?

TIA :flower3:

How did I miss this news? This is great that the pre order is now available for everyone! I wasn't sure I was going to get the Disney Destination e-mail for my June trip and now I don't have to worry about it:woohoo: Glad you are so up to date on all things Disney:thumbsup2
I'm pretty sure they charge you when you pre order the CD. They then send you an e-mail with the code that you use when you order the CD after your vacation.
ETA: I just read through the new thread about this. It sounds like when you preorder they put the discount in your smart cart and it stays there until you order after your trip. So you don't actually pre-pay like you used to; you just pre-order (which is definitely better)

I was worried about waiting to receive the email too. It was only whilst I was browsing Stitch Kingdom for MNSSHP dates that I came across it.

Awesome sauce that we don't get charged until we order the CD  Thanx for that :goodvibes Even though I was prepared to pay for it now, I really didn't want to have to.

Yes it's back :yay: You going to do it this year?

First, I love your new LV bag - very sleek and looks like a great size! I may have to look into one. :rolleyes1

But Space Mountain (as we discussed before) is way way waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than WDW and I don't care if I get flamed for saying that :cool2:

Second, I completely agree - it's so much better! :thumbsup2 I went to DLP with my college roommate when we were spring breaking in Paris (of course I insisted upon a day trip to DLP!), and I had done absolutely no research on DLP. This friend is a huge chicken, and completely afraid of roller coasters. I insisted that Space Mountain was not bad at all and that she suck it up and ride with me. :scared1: Let's just say that after that version of Space Mountain, we did not go on any other roller coasters that day and she didn't trust my advice at all when we went to WDW the next year for spring break. :rotfl:

Stefy-

Do you know that if I order the CD am I able to use the pictures to my liking. Like can I print out as many as I want and edit them how I please or am I charged for every picture even though I order the CD? TIA!

Why thank you, I also have it in the Damier design which I also adore. They are well worth investing in and I would go for it :thumbsup2

 Your poor friend. That ride is a bit much if you're expecting it to be like the Florida one. The first time I went on it, my head was going all over the place, bashed my ear on the side on one point, which was not fun. But still a v cool ride.

When you preorder, you are ordering a CD. It can hold up to as many photos as you want (up to a certain point, thinkits like 700). When you come home you can view all the photos online, add borders etc and then add them on to the disc. The preorder does not include any print outs, if you want those you have to pay extra. On special party nights you can get a 40% code for prints (I think). Hope that helps :)

I love seeing pics from the different Disney parks around the world - it's so interesting to look at the similarities and differences. Sleeping Beauty's castle is so pretty! :cloud9: And my...what a huge pumpkin!

Also, I saw someone mentioned LV and had to go back and look at the pic of your new bag! :cloud9: love it! Designer bags (particularly LV) are my weakness! I have way too much money invested in purses. :sad2:

I think we prefer that version because it is themed so much better and isnt single file either. Also the effect of being blasted up in the ait with smoke etc visible to the people outside just adds to the experience.

Stefy has been looking into a 40% off deal at DLP for November and if all goes well, we shall take a 2night 3day visit to the Disney Land Hotel!!:cool1:

Sleeping Beauty Castle is pretty cute, but you can't beat the castle at WDW :)

Designer bags are my weakness too, but I see them as a long term investment, so the ends justify the means :rolleyes1

I love your DLP pics! :thumbsup2

There are still plenty more from the other camera to come along with a story or two i'm sure.

I just read something and am a bit confused about it. Is it true that you cannot get a bus from your MK hotel to the MK theme park and the only transport options after a long day in the park is waiting in the crazy busy lines at the monorail station or boat dock? Surely epcot hotels take guests by bus to epcot and ak lodge buses to ak park?

Also I read that you cannot take a bus from the TTC to DTD.......are there any other transport issues like this out there? Just want to clarify all of this sooner rather than later.

Thanks
