I am SSOOOOOOOSOOOOO mad at myself right now. I just spent 45 min. on hold with MS (which is WAAAAAY too long IMHO) and so I had put the call on speaker phone and when the CM finally came on the line instead of hitting the button to take it off speaker I HIT DISCONNECT!! DOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!:headache:

OH and now I am back to getting a freaking busy signal when I try to call back. MS service SUCKS these days.
 
Wow! Better luck on your next try! Believe me, that has been my fear since our wait times have been so long, & I too put it on speaker for the wait.

That really stinks!! I spent 35 minutes on hold yesterday-
what's up w/ the long waits?

The website is horrible too. I spent 45 minutes on hold the other day because I'm trying to link reservations.

Why is it so busy? Hopefully tomorrow will be better?

This happened to me yesterday. My cell dropped the call twice. Then, I called back, and it was busy a few times. Finally I got through after a 40 minute wait. They told me it's because it's within 11 month booking window for around Thanksgiving and 7 month booking window for summer. Also, she said MyMagic+ questions are also coming in at a high rate. I was so annoyed. I tried to do the online chat, but of course my issue had to be called in :rotfl2:

Honestly though, I spent 45 minutes (most on hold) in early November. That was after I had already held for 35 minutes and had to hang up because I had somewhere to be. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes tops. Something is going on in the call center. HAS to be.
 
I called and had to wait over 50 minutes!! They also said that yesterday and today there were a lot of calls from travelers who had flight delays to to the horrible weather. Also, there are a lot of calls from those who are having issues with the my disney experience and setting up their magic bands.
 
Hope it is some comfort to know some of us let out a snicker, not to mock you, but because we can relate and know it hurts! Posts like this keep me grounded on remembering Murphy!
 
It is so frustrating! I waited over 30 minutes and all I wanted to do was drop the 1st 3 nights of our 10 night stay in Oct and to add 2 people onto our reservation for Feb. I still do not understand why you cannot add people to a reservation on line after the original booking! You should also be able to modify a reservation on line would save a lot of calls into the call center!
 
I agree -- it took me over half an hour on the phone yesterday just to add my daughter to our reservation. I was tempted to just cancel and rebook, but I have a one bedroom standard view at Boardwalk for July and I was afraid that by the time I could cancel and rebook, I might lose it to the wait list.

To add a person, change a person, add a request, just send an email to MS via the member website.
 
I was trying to combine several things into 1 call - I wanted to drop a few nights on a reservation, add a request, check on DVC cash availability and the rates AND had some questions about borrowing that I needed to clarify. THANK GOODNESS I did clarify the borrowing before I went through with my plan. We're not normally borrowers and I didn't realize that if I borrowed pts. and waitlisted something that took less points that the extra points would then be stuck in this UY and would go to waste. If I have to book the higher option there is no point to waitlist anything else. We will just have to borrow more than we wanted to and keep the higher pt. ressie if it comes to that.:headache:

I don't care what their excuse is - MS needs to hire more CMs to answer the phones. These hold times are inexcusable and you know they know the wait is bad. It's like calling Costco Travel or something.:rolleyes1

Yep. Every Disney call center is on mandatory overtime this time of year. So please remember when you're speaking with a CM, they're likely on their sixth day and/or 11th hour of having to be polite to people who are very angry with them about how long it took to get through to book a Christmas or Summer trip, fix a MDE issue, or rearrange a trip because of the snowstorm du jour.

Except the past two years at this time since online booking the waits haven't been bad at all. Personally I think we're paying the price big time for all the Magic Band issues.

Recently had a similar being on hold experience and was told they expect the long wait times to last until April. But, I agree that we do need to remember that as frustrated as we are by waiting, the CMs are likely twice as vexed having to deal with impatient callers. ;)

I BOOK online but you can't do EVERYTHING online - like get the availability for DVC cash rooms or drop days off ressies or ask questions about waitlisting like what I was trying to do...
