How about a lighthearted break for a few minutes? :goodvibes

Have had requests for more pictures of hamster (and dog) so I thought I'd share these.

Dog enjoys watching hamster every night. They are buddies.

(FYI candle is flameless/electric.) Enjoy!

Too funny! I love weird relationships between pets! Our female Shepherd watches our hamster like that.... but would not be as "serene" if the hamster was out of the cage with her in the room. :lmao:

Our male Shepherd LOVES the hamster, though, and follows her hamster ball around the house (we have to use a hamster ball to let her out because of the female Shepherd). If he gets bored and goes and lies down somewhere, the hamster will roll up to him and bump him in the nose until he gets up to "play" with her again. When we first adopted our girlie Shepherd last year, our male defended the hamster ball from her - she started to go after the hamster ball and our male jumped on her, pulled her away from the hamster, and then stood over the ball and growled. :lmao: She has never tried anything with that hamster ball ever again. :rotfl:

That is funny! This Shepherd is female. I think she considers hamster "hers" too. We also let the hamster in the ball and she nudges into the dog with it, too. My DH regrets not taking a picture of a sight he saw one day - hamster was in ball and both dog and hamster were looking out front door together, hamster was on hind legs. He said it was hysterical to see! :lmao:

Cute pictures.
Now I know why you stated the candle was flameless, lol.

Yes, lmp. It's a great place for him to run around. We have him out there every night. Last night, though, I was multitasking - getting "holiday light" pics for a photo assignment while letting him out of his cage for a while. Dog came out, as usual, and I realized I had a great photo shoot in front of me!

Thank you for posting those pictures! They are so cute! I showed them to my sister and my mom and they totally agreed with me about the high level of cuteness of your dog and hamster show!!!

Ohhh, these pictures made me SMILE! Remember me? I had the hamster that I paid a $250 vet bill for...after she (her name was Fergie) escaped and broke her leg?

I regret to inform you Fergie passed away peacefully on Nov 9. She seemed a little odd in the days prior, but nothing awful. We found her dead...which is a relief...cuz if I found her suffering I would have probably taken her to the vet again!

Anyway, I swore I wouldn't get another hamster...sick of fighting my DD to clean the cage, sick of listening to that little wheel spin at night (our house is small) and sick of that cage stuffing on the floor around the house.

BUT...when I see your pics...my heart melts! I mean, other than the whopper vet bill, that hamster was very low maintenance.

RIP FERGIE---1-2-08 to 11-9-10

Of course I remember you and Fergie! IIR, it was that thread that nudged us toward getting our Gus!

Methinks this is a good time of year to get another. For your DD of course. ;)

Besides wildernesslodgelover's long hamster thread, there's another currently going which is a "Hamster Watch" thread (which at first I thought was wll's "Hamster to the Vet" thread, but it wasn't), i.e. hers are missing. Anyway, for anyone interested in hamsters who wants to follow along, it's pretty interesting! Tips on how to find them if they get out!

So cute!

Wish you hadn't mentioned the candle was electric, would have made that one pic so much funnier to see your hamster warming his little tail! ;):rotfl2:
