Does your teen boy carry a wallet?

I think it depends on their style. If they like skate stuff, they'd naturally want something more casual. If they like to wear polos and khakis, etc, they'd probably want leather. Nothing wrong with either style.

He wears a formal dress uniform to school, so his weekend wear is much more casual this is true. They dress like businessmen for school so it seems the accessories tend to be casual. But you are right nothing wrong with either.

I have noticed several posters say that no one should tell the son what to use. I agree but I see nothing wrong with the Dad suggesting something to the son. Think of it as a bonding moment.

One poster mentioned you would never tell a daughter what pocketbook to carry. I have 2 DDs who are now 18 and 20. As teens, I suggested to them what would be good for them to carry. Both liked my suggestion. At the time it was a wristlet which would not only hold their money, IDs and various cards but also held their phone.

When I was 16, I had a velcro'ed wallet that I had for a few years. When I was 17, I was in the mall and stopped in a leather store. Grabbed a Wilson Leather tri-fold wallet. I look in my coat today at age 41, it's still that same wallet.

One of my SILs bought my eldest a leather one for his bday when he turned 13. She wanted to give him a little cash and a gift card so she put them in there to surprise him. He was totally impressed by his new "MAN WALLET" as he called it. It was really funny to see that reaction about a simple wallet. He threw out his old velcro wallet and switched over. (He still has a duct-tape wallet that he'll switch over to just for fun)

This is what I did..when my then 10 year old twin boys opened up a bank account, I took them individually to a department store to pick out their own wallet. Surprisingly, they both EACH chose a "man wallet"...one chose brown leather, the other black leather. They love having the leather one and they love pulling their wallet out to offer to pay for something. They also keep their middle school ID's in it...and always, $10, just in case...lol
