OK, I have a gripe about my new mailman.;)

My dog is sooooooo spoiled from our past two mailmen who showered her with dog treats - and hey, they went overboard, she really only needed one or two.;)

Our new mailman is OK, but he doesn't carry treats. First off - if he was smart, he would, to distract any vicious mutts. Second, he would because my poor dog loves mailman treats. :rotfl:

OK, I'll give the guy a pass - but I still wish he carried treats.;)

My best friend's DH is a mailman, and he carries treats. Our UPS and FedEx delivery people carry them too.

WHAT???? Treats for the dogs? We have never ever had a mailman or ups guy that carried them?! I have 2 dogs- lab and an english bulldog. The garbage guys used to bring treats for the Bulldog(but he is a garbage guy kind of dog....)

Wouldn't matter if our mail-dude carried top-sirloin. My two nimrods just want the attention.

Sometimes it's not the same mail-dude and the replacement freaks when he sees two 100lbs shepherds lumbering towards his little jeep.

Awwww... those poor babies. If I was your mail lady, I'd bring them treats.:)

My mailman is my dog's treat:rotfl:

Our mail carriers are so nice, and yes they do carry doggie treats.:thumbsup2

My Black Lab gets a treat from the UPS guy, she loves deliveries.

Same for us!!!!

I never knew that until this past holiday season. Our teen daughter was home, and opened the door for the Fed Ex delivery. Our very friendly black lab came bounding over, and the Fed Ex guy says, "Oh, THERE you are! I was wondering if you were still here! Here you go . . ." and gives our doggie a treat . . . :)

I was a Letter Carrier for 15 years and never carried dog treats. However, I had a motor route rather than a walking route, so it may not be the same.

Where I worked, you were discouraged from giving out dog treats. The reasoning is that if someone else is on your route and doesn't have them, the dogs could turn viscious. The ratio for houses with dogs was about one of three and most of them were guard type dogs. I never got out of my truck without carrying Halt! dog spray. Several carriers suffered dog bites every year, even the people who did carry dog treats!

I'm not sure if our mail carrier does, but our pizza dude has them! Missy would still rather have the pizza, though! :)

I don't think ours does, I've never seen him with any. I bet you'd find people not wanting their dog to get something so the poor mailman can't win either way.

When I was a public health nurse doing home visits, we were encouraged to carry Milk Bones. There were some houses where there was no way I was going to get to the door without chucking that pit bull a big Milk Bone!:scared1:

Our mailcarrier doesn't, but the paper delivery guy puts them in with the paper. He mus be away, or sick, or something, because no treats this week. Needless to say, our dog is NOT happy!!
The funny thing is, he delivers only the local town paper 2x's a week. The regular paper comes every day. I swear, the dog only gets excited when the local paper is here. I don't know how she does it!

I've never heard of anyone doing that, but what a nice idea!
