Does your grocery store use cards or something for discounts?

The grocery store I use most often is Bi-Lo. They have the "bonuscard" to get discounts on their sales items. Sometimes I go to Food Lion. I can't remember what they call their discount card, but I have one of those too. I've noticed a lot of people get frantic if they can't find their cards (I'd be one of them:teeth: ). The lady behind me in line yesterday couldn't find hers. Now you can tell them your phone number and if you have a bonuscard, you'll be in the system that way too.

So, does your grocery store use bonus cards and what do they call them?

I have a card for all of them!

Food Lion's is called an MVP card.

Have one for Ukrops and Giant too.

No, we have Advantage Buy! The savings are already there. Winn Dixie has a card, I think, they Think they started this whole thing, but Food Lion had it first I believe.:o

Well we can tell we live in the same part of the country! I go to Food Lion and Bi Lo too. I also have a bonus card to the Piggly Wiggly!

I don't think any of the major store in San Antonio has that type of program. H.E.B. Central Market does have a card where you buy so many pounds of coffee you get one free (whole bean, not Folger's or Hills Brothers)

I have a "Shaw's Rewards" card and key tag, as well as a "Trucchi's Preferred Customer" card.

Shaw's shoppers: They have the Disney cereals on sale this week for $2.22 per box!

Giant Eagle has the "Advantage Card" and I don't like it (but I use it to get the sale prices).

I feel that "Big Brother" is watching me. Their headquarters knows everything I buy - I get coupons in the mail for products I use the most often, and some for even the competitors of the brands I usually purchase.

Lets see, I have Giant, Super G, Acme and Genaurdi's.

Yes, they do this to "monitor" (if you want to call it that) your shopping. However, I don't let it bother me, with all the other things going on in this world... secure ID's, security cameras, swipe cards, spyware on certain websites, and network spy software on company networks.. I really don't think what four supermarkets see is really a problem (I've got nothing to hide)

I also get generated coupons from the stores as well, so thats great for me as well.

I "use" the bonus prices to my advantage.. Say if a store has a bonuscard thing for Buy one get one free. , then I use two different manufacturers coupons for each item. I then usually get both of the items FREE or very close to it.

We like Kroger...their card gives discounts but the best part is they donate a % of sales to dd's school.:D Food Lion also has a card here and along with the discounts they donate to the youth group at our church.:D

I shop at Publix, and they don't have one. The only store that has one here is Bi-Lo, and for some reason, I just don't like Bi-Lo. I think I'm the only person in the county who doesn't shop there. The company headquarters is about 3 miles from my house.

Snowwhitemom, Bi-Lo does that too (donates % to the schools:) ).

Kermit, I don't like Bi-Lo's fruits very much-they go bad too quickly. But everything else is pretty good.:) My SO's dad just goes to Shop-Rite. He can't stand Bi-Lo either. I don't like Shop-Rite.:)

Ellen, the closed Piggly Wiggly to me is about an hour and a half away. I didn't know they had cards too.:)

Thanks Kathy. I don't know why I couldn't remember MVP.

The founder of Publix, George Jenkins got his start in a Piggly Wiggly!;) Kermit: Thanks for shopping at Publix, you must have a nice one. Mine SUCKS-I work in IT!

Gee, nobody out there have a Wegmans Shopping Club card or a Tops Bonus Card? ;)

I have a Shoprite Price Plus card and an Acme Supercard. :)

I have a Jewel Preferred Card. I save $20 with it today!:Pinkbounc Got a bunch of "buy one get one free" things for Thanksgiving dinner.

I have a WINN DIXIE rewards card and it definitely comes in handy. DH and I have saved almost $70 in the few months we've had it! :jester: I still shop at Walmart for my BIG shopping. I use Winn Dixie for the small things or if I need something quickly and don't feel like fighting the Walmart crowds.
