Does your cat kiss you?

I have a 4 year old cat who has always been very affectionate. However, in the last few months, after we got a dog, she has started to actually "kiss" me. She comes up to me and licks my nose, just like the dog does! :goodvibes

I have never actually known a cat to do that before, does anyone else have a cat that does this?

::yes:: Yup my cat kisses me. :rotfl:

My Kitty doesn't kiss me. He, however, drools when he is very content.

We have 3 cats. Two of them are kissers and the other one isn't. As a matter of fact Missy my youngest cat actually gives hugs too. Several times when I was sitting on the crying over something she has come up to me and on her hind legs wraps hers front legs around my neck while she presses her face into my neck. Lately with all the stress I have been experencing at work she has been supplying a lot of hugs.

One of our cats does give kisses. Like the poster above said, we laugh about her being part dog. When the two dogs run in the kitchen to get a treat, she comes and gets in the middle and lines up with them. The other cats wouldn't dream of such behavior! :rotfl:

I used to have a cat(missy) who liked the taste of bengay so whenever she smelled it anywhere she would come running and try to lick it off you. Yuch...

Our sweet cat we now have also does a lot of drooling when she is content. She loves when you lie on your side, she comes over and doesnt just lay on you but sprawls on you with her paws on either side of you...

Ours doesn't kiss. She is a nice, sweet cat but only rubs/head butts when food is involved. Such a mooch. She also only wants to sleep with us when it is really cold out, and then she has to be under the covers.....However she can't stand not being in a room with us. She spends the bulk of her time trying to figure out how to terrorize the dog, and she snuggles with him more so than us, so go figure.

Is it true that soft bites after the lick is also a "kiss"? Our does that combo all the time. Head butts as well, usually all three in a row. Butt-Lick-Bite

A bite is definitely a kiss! ::yes::

Our kitty is a nosey kisser, too - rubs his nose with your nose, kind of like Eskimo muga muga. But only with me.
When the alarm goes off in the morning, he walks on DH's chest and head until he gets out of bed - no snooze button allowed. At 14 pounds he is pretty heavy on the chest.

He also fraps like a dog - runs at an extremely high rate of speed through the house, with his ears put back, it is hysterical.

Last night we saw him drool all over the place - he had tuna breath, so DH thought it would be good to use those Oral B brush ups on him. Whoa was that funny!! Of course the cat didn't like that at all!

Yes, my one cat Misty (who we joke is my shadow) loves to kiss me. She won't kiss DH though, unless I am not home and she requires attention. She also fetches a ball, but it has to be purple LOL.

Our other cat Cal (named after Cal Ripken) is so cuddly but he is not a kisser. He will rub his face on our face. I love to cuddle him so much I lied to the allergist about locking the cats (who we recently discovered I am allergic to @@) out of the bedroom.

They are both so sweet. I don't know what I would do without them.

Not only do mine give me nose-tap kisses and a couple of them give lick-kisses and all of them give head-buts, but I have one who will occasionally come up and tap my nose with her paw. :goodvibes

One of the things I'll do with my kitties is just pet their nose. Gabi has on occasion come up to me and "pet" my nose like I do with her. Really surprised me the first time she did it. LOL!

Both my current cat (a Maine Coon) and my dearly departed cat (a long-haired mutt) are/were nose kissers (lickers). Abby (our current kitty) also head butts and pets my face with her paw.

The breeder from whom we purchased our Maine Coon told me that she wouldn't be affectionate and not to expect the same lap cat, kissing, snuggling behavior I had had with my mutt cat. Needless to say - SHE WAS WRONG!!!

I think some of it has to do with how they are raised.

Yes. My cat kisses on demand. All I have to say is "kisses" or "kitty kisses" and he kisses me :goodvibes Of course, he expects a kiss in return.

I love the kitty stories!

My brother's cat loves toothpaste! When DB would brush his teeth (he is a walk around the house tooth brusher) he would sit on the side of the bed and Boomer would lick the toothpaste!

More kitty stories please!

Chance aka Kittie-Tatten, is a big time licker, also big time snorer--even if she is quite small. she can also, 'play' bite!
she is a talented hairdresser, also. Always happy to rearrange my hair. Although, I have to admit her use of claws can be a bit alarming!
:headache:

I have two. Only one is a kisser-headbutter-jumper on you. :earboy2: He was sitting on top of the fridge one night and I walked into the room to get something out of it. Next thing I know his claws are in my back. Needless to say that didn't go over well.

But he's a very loveable cat none the less. He loves to snuggle and kiss and everything in between.

I have 2 kitties. One, Shanghi is my big baby he has to be at least 15 pounds and he follows me where ever I go in the house. He doesn't lick me but he will head butt. He loves to be pet and when company comes over if they start petting him he won't let them stop. He does not like to be picked up and he turns into "stiff" cat - his legs go stiff and he pushes to get down) except when I hold him over my shoulder or on my hip like a baby (well that is when he wants to be held by me!!) He is TOTALLY my cat. He even has a Mickey head shape on his side. He also runs through the house like someone else mentioned their "big" cat does. Sometimes I catch him "running" on the wall - meaning his front paws somehow go across the wall while his back legs are on the ground. My other cat Sapphire (AKA Sis-Hillbilly) she is my dh's cat. She is from my mom's cats up in western NC. She is somewhat of a midget - she has no tail (born that way) and has a small head with REALLY big eyes and a REALLY big belly. She is pretty funny. She isn't as loveable as my Shanghi is except in the morning when she is waiting for her canned food or right after she eats (when I am getting ready for work) Last weekend I was petting her as she was sitting on the arm of the couch and she decides she wants to attack me - she is crazy like that. My cat that passed away in Aug he was one who used to knead my head at night but that was only when he was a kitten (he was almost 14 when he died) Funny how all cats have different personality.

Our cat Ariel doesn't kiss us but she rubs her head on us.

Now our youngest (1 year younger than cat) loves our cat very much (way more than the older 2 girls) and she rubs her head on us instead of kissing us. :rotfl: This started as soon as she learned to crawl. She does it to everyone incluuding the cat. Too Cute! IMO

Ash only has learned to real kiss us in the last few months, she will be 2 1/2 soon.

My kitty gives me nose kisses all the time. No licking though.

When the cat goes tearing through the house we call it the 'having the rips'-its so funny to see this 17 year old cat go tearing through the house,up the stairs and back again. We always wonder what gets into her to do this.

My little baby is definetely my saviour though - one morning I woke up to see her staring at the curtain rod in my bedroom. Lo and behold it was a baby mouse, if it wasnt for her I wouldnt have known it and maybe ran into it under my feet....my hero.....
