Does WDW post resort reservation rooms at different times during the year if there is no availability at 6-months?

The reason that I am asking is that I made a mistake and I left out one day in my reservation at Pop Century Resort for December 8, 2019, for a standard roll-in shower room.

I am doing a split vacation and I made a mistake between check-out day and check-in day.

For months, I have been checking every day and there is no availability for the same room on that particular date.

Besides waiting for the 30-day period when guests have to cancel a reservation before a penalty, does anyone else have any experience when WDW opens up resort rooms?

Other than for conventions or large tour/sports groups WDW does not hold back rooms. And for those situations once they get the final number from the organization, usually 30 days out, they release any unbooked rooms. They want to rent as many rooms at rack rate as they can.

Thank you dansdad, Sargeant Tibbs, Miffy, and Lynne M.

Pop Warner is that week, so many of the resorts are booked solid.
Ray--Have you tried calling? Not that I'm in love (or even in moderate like) with calling WDW, but sometimes CMs on the phone can get something done that can't be done online.
Also, check the third party sites like Orbitz. They sometimes get blocks of rooms, and those won’t be visible on the WDW site.

I just realized that Pop Warner is there during my December stays at Pop Century.

Can anyone think of any other large events going on that might stay at Pop Century? I can't think of any unless there are affiliated cheerleader groups.

I'm going to start to call WDW every day for a while now too.

Thank you, everyone. Please fill free let me know any more suggestions or advice or strategies.

On a side note, its funny how I tend to be making mistakes like this.

I think of check-in dates and check-out dates, but this time I got confused and I thought that I had the correct check-out date, but I didn't.

I think that I was thinking that Sunday was my last day at Pop and my split stay was at BWV check-in is on Monday.

For some reason, it didn't click in my mind that I needed the same check-out and same check-in day.

I guess that I'm getting old.

I know when I renewed my 10-year driver's license yesterday, I had to take a double look at my photo and say to myself I look so old compared to the driver's license that I had.

I always keep my calendar right three next to my computer when making travel arrangements. And not just A calendar, but the calendar that works for my brain.

I also write things out so I have it down.

If you feel like you’re making more mistakes, create rituals like that so you have a backup of sorts. I feel that my calendars are a way to outsource brain power lol. I don’t have to remember everything, because the calendar tells me what I need to know.

Definitely check places like hotels.com and orbitz for the room.

No luck with calling, but I will keep trying online every day and calling every so often. I just despise calling and hearing those automated questions. That's what I get for making a mistake.

Just keep checking, people change plans all the time. Room only rooms can be cancelled up until 5 days before check in. Maybe change your other hotel to start a day sooner?
