Does WDW offer Discounts to Veterans (not active duty)

Expired ID cards are to be destroyed or mailed back to the base upon separation. There is a letter you sign acknowledging this at your final out processing appointment.

Oh well been expired over 20 years. Guess I better destroy it. This run of the mill veteran as you call me didn't know that.

My Loews give 10 percent off every day to veterans. Most Loews are not like this thou.

With a valid ID card be the normal procesure. Not every Veteran can show a valid ID.

My Dad used to carry around his DD-214 (with SSN blacked out) as he was just a run of the mill vet. But now some states issue "Vet" on your drivers license if you bring in your DD-214 when you renew so he just has that now. Before he had it on the DL he would get his discount at Lowe's with the DD-214, and Home Depot.

Yes, I have that as well as the Disabled Veteran license plate.

Ok this run of the mill veteran will

Okay. Thank you "run of the mill" Veteran for your integrity. :)

I only quoted the person using that term, but it appears to be your preference to be called "run of the mill" so happy to appease.

It seems like you like calling veterans run of the mill if they are not retired from the military'. You being a veteran yourself should have more respect for veterans. Not just the ones who are retired. But whatever Makes you happy.

You need to re-read this thread!

Run of the mill is a synonym for regular. To distinguish from the not-regular vets, the retired and the 100% disabled - ie - the classes which get benefits corporately and from the feds.

Man, when regular, standard phrases become offensive to people...if "run of the mill" is offensive, I'm sure "regular" and "normal" are next...

And I say this as a run of the mill vet from a dual vet household who deployed during OEF. We don't need parades or acknowledgement every day. We probably get overthanked for our service when people find out, vs what our parents went through in Vietnam...we're just regular folks now and we are happy to be considered regular/normal/average/run of the mill/non-special...ie - no one owes us anything for our service except to treat us like they treat everyone else...as people.
