Does WDW Merchandising actually HAVE anything?

We are back from our disasterous trip (trip report later when I feel up to reliving the miserable magic) and I need several things that we did not have time to pick up before we left (4 days early to DRIVE 12 hours to take me to hospital ). I know they have all this stuff in stock, saw tons of it with my very own eyes in the past 7 days, but when I call WDW merchandising they say that a) it doesn't exist, b) are out of stock, c) don't sell that item, and d) it's been clearanced and will not be returning to stock. Tell me how the heck they are never going to sell santa mickey ears again. Please! I just don't get it. I have even tried describing down to the last thread and giving the exact store and location inside store. Reps have no clue about some of it still.

I have already looked online for some of this stuff with not much success. Even tried the almighty ebay. I feel so bad our trip was a bust I would at least like to sneak a few of the disney items DFi found down there in his christmas stuff. If anyone has any suggestions I am open to anything. Since it is getting down to the line on must be shipped in time for Christmas, I am getting desperate. In order of importance, I am looking for:

Yoda T-shirt that says "pull my finger, you will" (or something silly like that)
Nightmare Before Christmas T-shirt with "zero" (jack's dog) on it inside a #0
POFQ pin with mickey and fishing pole
Mickey's Treasure bottle, full of tiny tarts candy's (need 2)
2005 pin with mickey & gang on it
mickey head rice krispie treats (need 3, with chocolate ears)
happiest celebration on earth pin (golden castle one with tink of something)
pictures or a post card book of POFQ (we got absoloutly no pictures)

I just ordered something on Tuesday. It was something that was from the Mercantile in GF. The CM at Merchandising didn't know what it was from the description, but she put me on hold and spoke directly with the GF. The CM at the GF gave her the info and the item is being shipped as we speak.

My suggestion is to call back and hopefully you'll get a different CM. Give them as much info as possible as to where you saw it, price, etc. You could also try calling the shops directly, but sometimes they will just try to transfer you over to merchandising.

Seems like a lot of the things you are looking for would be avalaible in the store at POFQ or PORiverside. Try calling them directly and see if they can help..

Advise them that you saw the items there but that the general merch # you were given is telling you these things are not avalaible.

Go to your local Disney Store, they had the santa mickey ears at ours cheaper then they are at the park!

We were there Dec.4-10. I saw the treasure bottles outside of Pirates of the Carribbean. There was tons of Nightmare Before Christmas stuff in a store on the left side of the street as you head toward TOT at MGM. I didn't see the Yoda shirt at Star Tours, but I did see a Darth Vader "Who's your Daddy?" shirt. I had a hard time finding Mickey ears rice krispie treats while we were there. They did have some at Mousegears at Epcot. Good luck!

I've always e-mailed merchandising rather than calling and have had great luck doing things that way, even when I've had very little information for them to go by. Maybe it's because they have more time to track something down when I'm not on the other end of the line? Or because the message is passed on until it gets to someone who really knows what's going on? It might be worth a try.

Sorry that Disney Merchandise wasn't very helpful. Emailing them isn't a bad idea, can take a bit of time for them to get back to you. Or just try them again. I know some things can't be bought through WDW Mail order, for example some pins, and Pal Mickey (not sure if that's still true) However most of the items you described didn't sound like you should have had any problem, I'm not sure about the pins though.

A thought for the Yoda t-shirt, have you tried www.starwarsshop.com It's an official Star Wars site, maybe they might have something similar.

I would call back and speak to someone else. I had good luck with a few items I just didn't get picked up while I was there. As an aside, I don't think they will ship the Mickey Krispies. They don't ship any food items

The Yoda shirt I actually saw at Hot Topic in our mall a little while back. They sometimes carry Nightmare stuff too.

I would call POFQ gift shop direct & at least maybe they can get you the UPC #'s of the items you are looking for so Merchandising can pull them up.

Have to say I have always had great experiences with Merchandising - maybe you just got a "bad apple" who didn't want to be bothered? I would call back.

If someone is going down to WDW, could they collect the SKU #'s for you? With those, anyone at WDW merchandising will be able to order the stuff.
Also, you mighht want to try Disneyland DelivEars. They have an 800 number: 800-760-3566. Anything not WDW specific they can most likely get, and tend to be more knowledgable than their WDW counterparts.

To what email address did you send your request? I just realized last week that we forgot to buy golden Mickey ears when we were at WDW the beginning of this month. I had it on my list and everything. Ugh! Was the shipping reasonable?

Just got back - Santa Mickey ears - sold out.
POR pin with Mickey - if it was thelimited edition holiday pin there is a good chance sold out (besides they will not ship LE pins until one month after they are released).

The other two pins are difficult because they have released a bunch of similar pins. My suggestion would be to do a search at ODPT.com (Disney pin site) or Pinpics.com for the SKU numbers.

They will not ship the Mickey rice krispie treats (or so we have been told).
