Does WDTC offer sale prices?

Hi all

I'm currently researching a trip to WDW in a few years and wanting to get a rough idea of pricing so I know how much I need to save. I've got my heart set on the Beach Club but DH is aghast at how much it costs. We've travelled in the US before but never spent £300 per night on a room (Even the Bellagio with a lake view wasn't anywhere near that). I've read lots of posts suggesting that it is much better to use WDTC than UK travel agents, Expedia etc so my question is whether they do have sales that will enable me to justify the cost or whether I just have to forget about it and research moderates instead.

We will need to travel in UK summer holidays or Easter holidays as I am a teacher. My boy will be 6 or 7 by the time we travel and I like the idea of Beach Club because of proximity to Epcot and HS and also of course for Stormalong Bay!!

Yes they do, but I don't think you can guarantee on when there will be offers on. We booked the Beach Club in January, a couple of months after the free dining offer ended, when they had a room only sale. We got 35% off, so it brought the price down quite a bit.

The closest thing to a sale WDTC-UK will offer, will be the free dining deal, like the one that's currently on for 2015 stays.
there might be room discounts from time to time, but there is never any guarantee that there will be deals the next year

if you're looking at 2016 discounts, Free dining is expected to return end of april 2015 (if it returns at all, not guaranteed, only speculations)

if you're looking for other kind of discounts, you'll need to book through the US

Thank you both for your replies.

When we've booked Vegas hotels before we've booked them once we had our flights sorted then kept rechecking prices and changed the booking to a cheaper price/better room for same money. Is it possible to do that with WDTC or is it the case that once you've booked your room, that's it?

You can change to a better offer, but you'd lose your deposit with WDTC, which I think is £50 per person.

I booked in Jauary this year for October this year, Animal Kingdom Lodge was discounted to less than the moderate hotel Port Orleans. We have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside three times and like it. However with Animal Kingdom being discounted so heavily just couldn't resist, we hadn't even planned to go back this year!
This time I also booked the flights with Disney travel company as well, They are not direct as this saves money as well, I would rather have indirect flights and save money!
Two adults, 12 and 10 year old about £4900, not bad I don't think for flights, Animal kingdom lodge for two weeks including passes plus we get €150.
Last year they also had a discount for end of August beginning of September, I can't remember when they made that available (possibly around Easter).
So yes they do seem to have different offers available from time to time, you just have to keep checking the website regularly, there is usually a page with current offers.

You could also look in to staying at Beach Club villas. Basically Disney Vacation Club (timeshare) members sell off their annual entitlement to stay on property for cash, allowing you to use their 'points' for your stay.

I'm not very well informed, as I was only looking for a single night to extend our stay at SSR, and it quickly became evident that it wouldn't work for one night, so I stopped researching. Its more hassle as you have to find someone selling off their entitlement that matches your requirement, but there are agencies that facilitate this. And it would work out substantially cheaper. If you head over to the DVC boards you can find some leads to get you started researching on whether it could potentially work for you.

I'd really have liked to experience Stormalong Bay, sigh, but we really enjoyed our extra night at AoA....

Similar to a previous poster I booked AKL in February 2014 for a May 2014 trip with 30% off accommodation. No free dining but it did include a free $100 gift card. I doubt it was really free lol! I did not include flights as by scouring daily I got PE direct with Virgin much cheaper than the same flights offered by the WDTC.
