does vwl have a slide?

we were planning somewhere else to vacation for the last week in august, then southwest offered $45 each way to orlando so we jumped on it. We called for availability and surprise vwl was available for a 2 bedroom for the week!! DS2 and DS4 love the slides at okw and vero and ssr. We have never stayed at wvl. Is there a slide? Does the pool have any special features? Is there a DJ at the pool in the afternoons? Any special features at VWL that you like? thanks

WL is GORGEOUS!!! There is a beautiful pool with a natural rock slide that is wonderful. The pool area overlooks the lake. There is a geyser that goes off every hour. Inside the lobby there is a stream running thru. In order to get to the boat dock, you have to cross over the bridge in the lobby while the stream runs beneath your feet.

It is an amazing hotel!! Your little ones will love it!!

I think you will be pleasantly surprised!!

There are two pools at the WL resort, one at the Lodge and a quite pool by VWL. The only slide is at the main pool and it's not as long as the ones you mentioned but it's just right for the kids IMO You can see the lake from the main pool but there are no planned activities at either pools that I know of. There is a daily duck race for the kids around 3:00PM that starts at the main lodge spring so this might be of an interest for your kids.
The quite pool is just that. Very quite and peaceful amongst the tall pine trees. You don't get much traffic here from the WL guests so your kids might be able to enjoy the entire pool to themselves.

As I read your post, I wanted to mention the same thing tamu91 did. The slide at WL is not a large slide like at BWV or BC. When our kids were a couple years younger, such as your childrens ages, this slide was perfect for them (it still is). I could let them go up by themselves and wait for them at the bottom.

But no DJ.

Since the only ones you mentioned were SSR, VB and OKW - then your family will love it.

It is not as fast as OKW - but I think it is alot like VB.

I think your ds's will love the slide at the WL main pool (it's a great pool btw). The slide, which sort of comes out of a rock formation, is perfect for your little ones as it's shorter and tamer than BWV, BCV or OKW (not sure about SSR because we haven't seen that one yet).
As for special features at WL. We like the small sandy beach area. It's great relaxing on the beach on the lounge chairs and watching the Electric Water Pagent float by at night.
