Ok I stopped reading at page 8 so forgive me if some of these were answered earlier on.

Yes we do have the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canada for a stock market also known as the TSE.

I have been to Freedom Fest in the river between Detroit and Windsor very good show but nothing compared to Illuminations.

We have Pop Tarts in Canada but they are sold as packages of 6 not like the packs of 8 we found in Florida.

Our waits for medical treatments depending on how picky you are and preference can be longer than usual but if you aren't picky you can usually get in pretty quick I had my knee operation done by the same surgeon at the same clinic that Steve Yzerman had his done the Fowler Kennedy clinic in London Ontario top rated orthopedic centre in NA.

Does the US have the new SMART cars sold at Mercedes dealerships?

Who makes Dr Pepper in the US it is made by Pepsi up here and you will never see it in a restaurant that sells Coke products.

As far as I know they are just called Potato wedges 4H is here mostly in farming comunities as far as I know.

Where do most people "dream" of going in Canada, but don't because it's too expensive, or exclusive, or far away (or all of the three).

Moving to Vancouver is a popular choice for those in their early 20's. Big city, moderate temperature, laid-back lifestyles, ocean and the rockies, all make Vancouver a very attractive city for those just starting out. Makes it a popular destination for tourists as well. Unfortunately it costs a fortune to live there.

I'd guess that the most desired trip in Canada is to Lake Louise/Banff. Either that or to Prince Edward Island. But I can't think of any Canadian destination completely outrageous in cost.

Dr. Pepper is produced by the Dr. Pepper/7Up Company out of Dallas, Tx. While it isn't often found in restaurants up north you find it in EVERY restaurant in Texas - regardless of whether they are Coke or Pepsi places!

As for Canadian trips - what about the west coast of Vancouver Island? We went to a pretty town there, had some pretty fancy resorts but the name was a complicated indian name I can't remember. I know, I know - most of the little towns had complicate indian names!

Jenna TX we pay 30% in Ontario for incometax so if your pay was 1200 a week then you pay 30% of that in income tax. So 360 would be your tax taken from that pay.

Does the US have independant political patrties like Canada? We have the Conservatives and the NDP and the Liberals but we also have the Green party and a couple other smaller parties and they all have an equal chance at winning a seat in parliment how is it in the US do the independents if you have them have a chance or do you even have independants?

We have many "3rd parties" (outside of the Republicans and Democrats). It's just that the two main parties have such a following (and therefore most of the resources) that most 3rd party candidates aren't successful beyond the local elections. Also, the 3rd parties often endorse candidates who are running as a Repub or a Dem rather than put up their own candidate. Some of the better known 3rd parties are Independence, Green, Conservative, Liberal, Libertarian, Right to Life, Working Families... at least here in NYS... I know there are more... there's even a Communist party in the US!

Kudzu ia an invasive, alien plant that originated in Japan. It was brought over here a long time ago and it began to thrive. Now it covers other vegetation in the south, and kills it!

I remember reading that a breed of magnolia is capable of surviving colder winters. i think that I have seen it in Pennsylvania hwere I am now. I wondered if it could survive your winters?

The rail trail is a bike trail that goes along the railroad tracks. You need to have a mountain bike because the trail gets kind of rough. I love to bike!

No Kudzu that I know of, but lots of dandelions!

No rail trails that I have seen in Alberta. BC may have them, they have better weather year long.

How many days a year do kids attend school there? Our school division goes for 180 days.

In my area of Canada, we do have rail trails on old train tracks. It's actually caused some controversy with the people who live by them because in the winter the tracks are used by snowmobilers and people complain about the noise. In the summer, they are used by four wheelers or dirt bikes.

Are communities allowed to spray pesticides in the US? Every summer there's a big stink here between those that want to kill the mosquitoes, and reduce the threat of West Nile Disease, against enviromentalists and people who are concerned about cancer causing pesticides.

It depends a lot on your province. While I lived in Quebec, I was paying about 25% to the federal government and 25% to the province. 50% of my income in taxes! But I was also only paying $5 a day for daycare and nothing in medical costs even for prescriptions. Housing was a lot cheaper too.

In Ontario, taxes are less expensive (about 6,000 less a year) but daycare is over $30 a day. It's like paying a second mortgage! Housing is also more expensive in this province.

Our Alberta Health Care is $264 a month for our family. That covers hospital bills, etc.. but not prescriptions, private rooms in a hospital, ambulance rides, things like that.
Does the US have to pay a monthly health care bill or anything like that?
Out of every paycheque comes Taxes, Alberta Pension Plan,and Unemployment Insurance.

No fireworks on News Years Eve - do darn cold!! They are legal in Canada - at least in Ontario but you have to be 18 to buy them.

We usually only have major fireworks for Canada Day - July1.

Now I have to think of a does any where in the USA have sub sauce at Subway? When we were in Cape Canaveral they looked at us so funny when we asked for sub sauce on our sub and then said oh, you must be Canadian!

I saw fireworks in Winnipeg on NYE.

I think Moosehead is more popular out in the western provinces. BTW--Almost all of my Canadian friends from Ontario--and there are about 40 or so of them--like Corona best. Must be NAFTA or something LOL!
