Hello: Have someone in our party with a dizzy issue, and they would like to know if the toy story mania cars are like the buzz lightyear cars where the people in the car control the direction/spinning the car is going.

Deb.

The car moves by itself, and lines up and stops in front of a screen, where you can shoot at the targets. Then it automatically moves on to the next one.

You move your cannon, but you don't control the car.

It spins on it's own, but it doesn't just spin around in endless circles, it spins you to face the opposite direction as you switch screens, then you play that screen for a bit and it spins your car again to facwe the next screen...I don't think it would be an issue with anyone who has spinning issues..I hate spinning rides like triceratops..but I love TSM...

Unlike Buzz Lightyear at the Magic Kingdom where you control how your car spins, you cannot control the spinning of your Toy Story Mania car. It spins to point you in the right direction for your next set of targets.

I was concerned about this myself, but as others have said, the spinning is really no big deal. I love this ride!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

I get dizzy watching a merry-go-round and swinging at the playground and I have gone on TSM over and over with no problems.

It's a very very different attraction then Buzz....

You don't move around shooting.

The car moves you, and parks you in front of a TV monitor, and you shoot whats in front of you on the screen.

I know that this is an old thread, but I just wanted to thank the previous posters. I had a vertigo spell the day before we left last year and I battled it the entire trip. We were gifted fastpasses by a random stranger, and we agonized about it and decided to pass them on, rather than ride TSM for the first time. It was sorta heartbreaking.

Sounds like it's not so much spinning as pointing, so that's good. My main concern has been that the movement of the car and the altered reality caused by the 3D glasses would be too much for someone with balance/dizziness issues.

My mother gets dizzy very easily on rides. She tried to chicken out of TSM when we got to the front of the line, but the CM told her to get on and she would be fine. The ride didn't bother her at all. She loved it! :)

I appreciate that! I think I would have looked at the CM like s/he was nuts. Anyway, now I'm more prepared, and we'll do TSM at least once.

i do not use the word spin when talking about TSM. flip is more like it.

It can be a bit jerky and moves you quite forcefully and suddenly but I think you'll be ok. I suffer very badly from motion sickness but I can tolerate TSM just about - it's worth it for the fantastic ride.
