I am staying at BLT in a grand villa around Easter weekend. I know the crowds will be brutal. I was wondering if the TOTWL fills up and is closed off if too many people are there? How soon before the fireworks should we show up to get a seat? If we all go, there will be 12 adults and kids. Also, is the menu there enough to do heavy appetizers in place of dinner? This will be my first DVC stay and I am getting very excited!:cool1:

I don't think the menu there is enough to substitute for dinner. But that's just me. We tried to do this once and ended up going down to the Contempo Cafe after Wishes because we were still hungry. They don't have an actual kitchen at TOTWL so the menu is very limited.

As for closing due to capacity, I don't think it happens. Far more people use the observation deck than the lounge itself. But with a group that size, I'd get there at least an hour early, maybe even a little sooner.

I don't think that it has ever reached capacity.

To get enough food for your party you would need probably 3 appetizers per person so your food bill would be around $400.

Seats for drinks & apps? Because you can't see the fireworks very well from inside the lounge - actually not at all from some parts of it.

Whenever I've been there the majority of people seem to start showing up approx 20-30 minutes ahead of time.

The most filling food as I recall is a small flatbread.

Good - it's not just me. We ordered several appetizers - all I remember is the shrimp cocktail that was like $13 and had 4 very small shrimp. I would never order it again. The pretzels for 7 or 8 bucks weren't bad, but soft pretzels don't really make a good dinner. I agree with Bill, you'd need several appetizers per person to make a substantial meal.

I don't recall that it ever reaches capacity and even then if you want fireworks you want the deck, not the lounge.

Have only had a cheese plate. It was very good, but it wasn't dinner.

When they had the 3 different styles of flatbread- I found that if we had a large lunch (sit down meal) then 1.5 of the flatbreads would make a good dinner.

The 7 layer cake they have however is a great dessert for a group- although for your size group you might want 2- we shared it with a group of 7 and each got a little dessert after dinner at the Wave.

We were there for NYE fireworks & it wasn't filled to capacity. Like others have stated, the observation deck had a lot of people that didn't go in the lounge.

As for food, we each had our own flatbread & I thought it was filling enough for a light dinner. We love their flatbreads especially the BLT. Yum!
