I'm not familar with what is included with the DxDP....by the looks of your selections you get more TS credits, right?

Anway...IMO that is alot....alot of food. I could not image three sit down meals a day. We had breakfast at Boma last week and were so stuffed from that we didn't even eat lunch that day...just grabbed a popcorn and soft pretzle at the park midday....by the time dinner came we were nice and hunger again and could enjoy an appetizer, entree and dessert.

Like I said...it is just my opinion, but DH and I could never eat that amount of food and still enjoy ourselves on rides, walking through the parks and such.

The other thing you might find is that your daughter will chafe at spending so much time dining rather than being in the parks. You've done what I plan to do when my kids are older, schedule a signature dining meal and one other meal a day.

With a five year old daughter, whave you considered a princess meal. Cindereall's Royal Table, Askerhaus in the Norway pavillion in Epcot and dinner at 1900 Park Fare have princesses. The 1900 Park Fare meal is centered around the Cinderella story with the prince, step sisters, etc. The other two have multiple princesses. If your daughter is obsessed with princesses as my daughter, also five, this may save you time. If these meals are not an option then Toontown has princesses and many can be found in Epcot locations with shorter lines. We do CRT every trip right now and my wife also takes our daughter to Toontown and Ariel's Grotto.

I agree with the OPs that three sit-downs a day is going to be too much. That's going to work out to spending 4.5-6 hours a day in restaurants. Which, if that's your thing, go for it. Here's how I would amend your plan:

On Friday, I'd switch breakfast to Akershus, snack for lunch and then dinner to either something like Coral Reef, Chefs de France (or any other World Showcase restaurant), or, and this would be my pick, Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. This will leave you in the Epcot area in the evening, allowing you to experience Illuminations.

On Sunday, along that same principle, I'd swap Citricos for the Brown Derby, which will allow you to go to Fantasmic if you want. Alternately, you could go to Flying Fish that night (nice boatride from DHS).

On Monday, I'd keep Tuskerhouse, ditch Yak and Yeti, and switch Boma to Jiko.

Other than that, looks fine.

I think the places you picked look great but the first thing I thought when I read is what the others above me are saying......that is a lot of table service restaurants.

Now if the Disney Dining experience is what you guys are all about, then I think you are spot on but my guess is that when you get there and get into the flow of everything, you may not want that much time spent in "sit down restaurants" or the amount of food and expense that comes with them. JMO.

One other thing -- I'd swap California Grill and Artist Point, and here's why: California Grill is, in my mind at least, more of a must-do than Artist Point, which is why I wouldn't risk having it on a travel day. Not only that, but I think it would be a great way to cap off a fabulous trip.

Yowza thats a lot of eating.....ok so I am green with envy! I think you made some awesome choices!

Two things...unless all those meals are really spread out on your schedule, it will probably be way too much sitting in a restaurant time for your DD (time wise, especially.) And a lot of travel time to & from also. Time-wise...when you're going in February it's SHORT park hours...taking 4-6 hours a day + travel time to sit in restaurants - is that what you've pictured for your vacation...don't get me wrong, I would love that kind of vacation, lol. Just thinking your DD might be more interested in the rides. And five 2-TS meals...those meals especially take a long time - can be 2+ hours, easy. I think I'd go for lunch at counter service every day, just so you'd have more flexibility on schedule (and to have one smaller meal a day!) There are a lot of counter service choices (not just burgers & hot dogs.)

The other thing...did you add up all the credits correctly...just looking at it quickly, I think you might be one over on the meals...did you count all your 2 TS credits? You'll get 21 credits per person (7 nights x 3), but I'm getting 21 credits used through dinner on Tuesday...Cali Grille, Narcoossees, Spirit of Aloha, Citricos & Artist Point are all 2 TS meals, aren't they? So that's 10 TS, then you have 12 more TS listed. That extra meal on departure day would be OOP.

My math might be wrong...still working on the coffee!

This is a really good line up so far! We took our very first trip this past May and had the DxDDP. It is a lot of food, but we are "foodies" so we enjoyed having those sit-down meals, especially the 2TS meals.

For starters, in my opinion, California Grill is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at ANYWHERE. We absolutely loved it!! And that view from the 15th floor of the Contemporary is amazing. Watching the fireworks show at the MK from the Cali Grill balcony really gives you a feeling of that Disney Magic. Here is our review of Cali grill with pictures:

We did the Ohana breakfast and loved it. Your DD5 will LOVE it! Stitch is quite a character! He may come over and steal your silverware! The character interaction is great and the parade is a must! It's loud and wonderful....and the food is really good! The pineapple bread is TO DIE FOR!

Dinner at Narcoossee's was probably our 2nd favorite, only to California Grill. If you like lobster, get the Whole Maine Lobster, but steer clear of the surf and turf....the Whole Maine Lobster is fresh, but the lobster tail on the surf and turf tasted "funny", like frozen for months. It is a lovely location and should be easy to get to for you staying at the Poly. Here is our review and pictures: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=25531377&postcount=226

We did the 50s Prime Time for lunch and had a great time! If you get into the role, it's a lot of fun. The food was good too! Here is our review with pictures: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=25725382&postcount=557

Yak & Yeti was probably my single favorite lunch, other than Le Cellier at Epcot. It was SOOO good! We will definitely be eating there again. Again, here is our review with pictures: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=25606019&postcount=369

We have not had Chef Mickey's for breakfast yet, but we already have an ADR for our upcoming trip in May. Can't wait! We also are planning a dinner at Artist Point and Ohana.

Hope this helps! Good luck in planning. If you get a chance, check out our pre-trip report at the link in my signature. We will be eating at a lot of the same places.

Seeing your list reminds me too much of the biggest mistake I made on our trip a couple of weeks ago.

I too had the deluxe dining plan. I booked some days a 9:30am breakfast and 5:30 pm signature dining restaurant and other days breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We arrived and had lunch at 2, Luau at 8. Great!

Day 2..
breakfast at Hollywood and Vine - 8am
Lunch at 50's Prime Time - 1:30pm
Dinner at California Grill 7:00pm.

We didnt get out of H & V until 9:45. DD4 (almost 5) was having a great time singing and dancing!

We showed up at 50's 3 1/2 later, not hungry at all. The food was so good, I still managed to stuff down an app, entree and 1/2 the dessert. Left there at about 3:10.

Went on about 2 rides then left to go back to resort, shower and dress for DINNER! Blahhhh. I wasnt hungry AT ALL. I picked at my salad, had 2 - 3 bites of Filet of Beef (only that much because it was so incredibly good), skipped dessert.

We got out of there at almost 10 (dinner was interupted by Wishes fireworks). Went to room (stayed at Contemp.), off to bed to be woken up for our Day 3 8:00am BREAKFAST!

Day 3
Breakfast - Tusker House - 8:00am
Lunch - Yak and Yeti - 1:30pm
Dinner - Le Cellier - 6:30pm

Again, another long breakfast..got out at 9:45. Went on a ferw rides in Dino Land and was back in Asia for Yak and Yeti at 1:15. OMG..still full from breakfast! Ate my app..about 8 pot skickers, then came my shrimp and steak..HUGE portions and 3 gigantic scoops of sorbet, delicious..so those got shoved down my throat too. Had just enough time to leave the park, get to resort, change clothes and get to Epcot for DINNER!!!

Day 4...cancelled Dinner and moved lunch to 4:00pm.

Day 5, 6, 7 had breakfast and sign. dining

Day 8 and 9, cancelled lunch.

We used 2 or 3 snack credits, out of 96 that we had, while were there....all on DD4 because she actually knew when to stop in the restaurants! She got an extra ice cream and a couple of drinks, which we really didnt need because we also got refillable mugs with our package!

I will do the deluxe again, but only 2 meals per day (and you will still save $$ rather than paying out of pocket!)

DISNEY1975 - That was exactly our experience on the DxDDP this past January. It is for that very reason that we are not doing ANY dining plan this year - and I'm SO looking forward to it.

OP - I presume you've already paid for the DxDDP, and that you're excited about it. It doesn't mean that you have to do 3 TS meals a day (or use 3 credits in a day). I know it is more economical that way, but it can cause a heap of problems, not the least of which is restaurant/food fatigue on day 2. If you definitely want all TS and no CS (and hey - there are really yummy CS places at WDW!), stick to breakfast and dinner only. Go for the 2 TS dinners. We LOVE Flying Fish & Jiko. I think FF was my husband's favorite meal of our last trip.

I especially suggest the 2 TS places if you're doing breakfast buffets. The one day we did a buffet (Cape May - it was awesome!), we were not remotely hungry by the time of our Akershus lunch.

Heck - by the end our trip, we didn't give a crap whether we used all the credits or not. We just didn't want to sit in another restaurant... My advice: Enjoy that ALL of your meals are paid for, but don't get too carried away with using up all your credits or getting the most bang for your buck.

Have fun!:)

One more thing - if you eat too many meals, you won't have room for all those great Disney snacks. Save room for snacks!

Thank you so much everyone for your oppinions! I'm going to work out the schedule a little.

I was actually quite surprised that all of my requests were available when I called, so I figured I should book them now and then change things around. My DD5 would love to be a chef someday, and both her and my DH have the highest metabolism of any one I know (I'm jealos can you tell). They are always hungry, and just knowing that our meals are paid for in advance is worth it to me.

I do think I should leave some more lunches available for impromtu meals on the go though. :confused3 Who knew making dining reservations 2 months in advace would be this much of a task!

Thank you again everyone!:santa:
