Does this sound crazy?

DD has always wanted to do the Sunrise Safari, but you have to stay at AKL concierge to do it. We live in Orlando about 15 minutes from AKL. I've considering booking a concierge level room at AKL for one night after DD gets out of school for the summer and surprising her. It is stupid to spend money on a concierge level room when we live so close? I wish anybody could book the Sunrise Safari. On the otherhand, it might be fun to spend a night away from home. What do you think?

well - it would be the cost of concierge and then the cost of the sunrise safari.but you would get concierge access the night before...so fun...have a couple glasses of wine, hit the cappucciono machine...enjoy the dessert offereings. yum!

I wish anybody could book the Sunrise Safari.

ahhh...that's why I love AKL concierge...it actually offers it's guests something no one else can do. that's a perk.

I've done it twice...it's fun...good breakfast...got some great pictures. if you have the money, why not?

Go for it. You will make my daughter so jealous By the way her new career choice is to open up a community theater teaching acting and vocal. One way to make sure 'you' get starring roles. That's her reason to tranfer from UTampa to Rhode Island College. UT does not have technical theater classes RIC does.

Speaking of AKL.. I am thinking of eating there some night when down the first week of May. Boma is way too expensive how/what are the other kinds of restaurants?

I think it's a great idea! It's always fun to "get away". You could go swimming and order room service! Sounds fabulous!

Go for it! My DS and I often go stay overnight at WDW. We are actually trying to stay at least one night at each of the resorts.

My dad would say that is a crazy idea but I, on the other hand, think it sounds great! I'm a big believer in "life is short" etc. If I had the extra money,knew my DD really wanted to do it, yeah, I'd book it and I'd enjoy every second. My vote is "go for it" and have a blast. She'll never forget it!!

Mara = food court
Boma = buffet
Jiko = sit down dinner...VERY good but more $$ then Boma

I think you would both have a blast! The Sunrise Safari really is a wonderful experience, and the breakfast afterward is DELICIOUS. Go and enjoy yourselves! I would just not do a park that evening. Also, I would try to check in as early as possible to get the maximum benefit from your evening there.
