Does this plan look doable?

Hi!

I have revised my touring plan. How does it look? As you look, please keep in mind that I do want to be running all over the place :faint: so I have grouped attractions by "lands". I may have to wait longer, but I am okay with that. It's just me and an old friend (we're in our mid-30s). Kids are at home with hubby! :rolleyes1

Tuesday May 23
Arrive to DL no later than 7:45 for EE (yes, HydroGuy :worship: , I am getting my *&%$ up early :crazy2:)
Once in the park, here are the rides in the order I plan to ride them: Matterhorn, Peter Pan, Tea Cups, Mr. Toads, Snow WHite, Pinocchio, Small World, Get FP for SM, Astro, Star Tours :darth: , Space Mountain with FP, Lunch at Red Rocketts, Buzz, Autotopia and Innoventions. I want to be done by 3:00. Then it's a stroll down Main Street for shopping :ssst: (don't tell hubby). On to DCA for Block Party  and dinner at Wine Country.

Wednesday May 24
Arrive to DCA by 9:30. Soarin, Grab FP for GRR, ToT  , Monsters, Golden Dreams, Lunch at Taste Pilots, Aladdin (12:30 show), GRR and then back to hotel for dry clothes. Hang out at DL for the evening. Dinner at Plaza Inn, maybe over to Toontown to meet Mickey ::MickeyMo and Minnie ::MinnieMo . More Main Street shopping.

Thursday May 25
arrive to DL around 8:30. Rides: Splash Mountain :umbrella: , BTMR, Indiana Jones, Jungle, Lunch at the Bill & Hillbilly Show  , Tiki Birds, Haunted Mansion, Disneyland Gallery, Mark Twain (I wanna drive!) and Tom Sawyer Island. I need to be on Main Street for the 50th Anniversary Tour at 2pm. Tour ends with the parade. Hang out after parade. :chat:

Friday- go home :furious:

So, how does it look? :confused3

you could save more time if you sent one person for passes while the other waited in a line----you definately can get more accomplished without kids----but i would try to be a little more flexible on the order of rides-----let the lines dictate where you'll be next-----you can usually fit more in that way------and use the fast pass system to your advantage. Your legs will be tired!
Goodluck! :cheer2:

I would go immmediately and get a FP for Space Mountain, then backtrack to Fantasyland. I know its more walking than you want, but it will be SO worth it. Or send a "runner" ahead to get the FP while you get in line for Peter Pan, because Matterhorn is not a good first thing ride. I would go for Peter Pan as the line goes SO slow and it never gets shorter all day long. Then the rest of the Fantasyland rides, THEN Matterhorn. The line for Matterhorn will look really long, but it goes really fast. Actually Small World and Tea Cups' lines go really fast too even when they look long.

Then get a FP for Buzz as you head to Tomorrowland, since most likely your Space Mountain FP will be "due" and you will be able to grab one. Star Tours, Space Mountain, etc. probably lunch, then your FP for Buzz will be due. Innoventions if you must, but you should be done by 3pm easy.

The DCA day looks pretty good. Monsters has crazy lines and no FP so you might think about doing it pretty early in the day before the line has time to build up. ToT seems to have FP still available quite late into the day.

The other day in DL grab an Indy FP first as you walk through. Then go to Haunted before Splash as it is really cold in there and if you are "splashed" on Splash Mountain it is toooooo shivery for me. After Splash someone go get FP for BTMR while the other one goes and gets in line for Jungle Cruise.

You dont have the fireworks anywhere! Are there no fireworks while you are there? Oh that would be sad...

Since you are going for EE you can not get a fast pass for space moutain until the park officially opens at nine that's when the fast pass machines start working so your original plan was correct to wait to get that.

Small world is not open during EE so I would leave that for last of the FL rides but if it is getting close to opening time run and get a FP for Space first before riding since it's a long ride. The first ride I always hit with EE is peter pan, followed by matterhorn then the rest of fantasyland is normally a walk on (I don't go on dumbo, tea cups but I heard those are pretty popular as well so you would want to ride those before the rest of the rides). You can probably ride buzz, star tours and astro when you waiting for you space mountain fast pass we have had no problems with that but we don't go on astro. I assume from experience you will get all of FL and TL you have before lunch done before 10 so that might be a little early for lunch.

I would head to monsters first thing in DCA if you are interested in riding it since it's new the line gets long throughout the day you can always get a FP for soarin'.

Is there anyway you can stay Friday to catch Fantasmic, fireworks and the electrical parade they are only playing on the weekends when you go!

Also while grouping rides together by land may seem like a good idea you may realize that the lines are nonexsistent and you are able to walk on too most every ride and you want to ride some rides multiple times. Normally if we see a short line we jump into it! The lands in DL are pretty close together so it's easy to do!

Have a good trip!

Personally, I'd switch the day that you're seeing the Billy Hill & Hillbillies to Tues or Wed--the gold team (Tue. Wed, & Sat) do a better show, IMO, than the green team (Thurs, Fri), though the green team is funny, too. I'll just take Billy Elvis over Billy Little John any day. Also--do Peter Pan before Matterhorn. Matterhorn loads much quicker that Peter Pan, therefore the line won't be as long.

Overall this is good. I would suggest a few tweaks.

Do Peter Pan before Matterhorn. As noted by others, Small World will not open until after EE at 9AM, and it is a fast loading ride so you can hit it up until lunch and the line will not exceed 20 minutes, probably less.

Get your Space Mtn FP at 9AM when the FP machines open there. Your schedule looks about right for that. Once you get your Space Mtn FP, you can get another FP 45 minutes later since it is still early morning. So if you get Space Mtn FP at 9AM, you can get Buzz at 9:45AM and ride Buzz anytime after 10:30AM with FP. If I were you, I would ride Buzz after Star Tours as soon as it's FP window opens, and be ready to get another Buzz FP when you get off (Buzz is a lot of fun). If you do not want to ride Buzz again, then you haven't lost much.

Other than that, you will be done with the above well before lunch and have plenty of time for shopping.

This is good, but I hear the Monsters Inc line builds fast. I would be tempted to go straight from Soarin to Monsters Inc, and get the GRR FP after Monsters. If you do this, the window for GRR will still open 45 minutes after you get the FP, so it will still be ready for use after lunch.

This one I would tweak more. I would get Indy FP first, then ride Jungle Cruise (you will be able to walk on), then ride Splash and BTMRR. I would do Haunted Mansion before Tiki Room.

If I could make more major tweaks, I would want to ride Splash when it is warmer. So I would do this:

Get Indy FP
Ride Jungle Cruise (walk-on)
Ride BTMRR (2 minute wait max)

Get Splash FP if time window is open, otherwise get it after Haunted Mansion
Ride Haunted Mansion

Ride Indy
See Tiki Room and Gallery
Ride Splash

Have Lunch

Ride Mark Twain and go to Tom Sawyer Island

You have a very easy-to-do schedule and will hardly wait in any lines at all if you can make your arrival times. You will have lots of time to shop and be leisurely. Have a great trip. :thumbsup2

At this time at DL really (50th-ish) .... it's best to get Fast Passes for Space Mountain first/upon arrival at the park and then ride a few things until your Fast Passes allow you to get another Fast Pass for another attraction.
(Like Splash or Indy). Whether you use your Space FP yet or not, while you continue to ride things with short lines early in the day.

After getting Fast Passes for Space Mtn in the morning.. a nearby favorite to ride early is Buzz Lightyear.

Space gets a lot of Guest masses attention early and all thruout the day until park closing... as does Indy and Splash.
But early.. a lot of the crowd still runs west at Rope Drop and heads to Indy and Splash.. and a lot runs towards Space to get Fast Passes and to ride.

Getting Space Fast Passes and holding them until later that day or evening... and then getting Splash Fast Passes ASAP, (as soon as Disney lets you) for the middle of the day (most heat, longest wait) is a really a good Guest strategy at this time. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! I did tweak my plan according to your suggestions. Now I am just going to go and have a good time!

I'll report back after my trip!

Thanks again :teeth:

I was just thinking that since you have so much padding in your schedule, you really should plan some time to see Turtle Talk With Crush at DCA (unless you have seen it before). It was a hoot for both kids and adults. They have it at the Animation Studios in the HPB area, and when DCA is busier they run three 20-minute shows an hour. I am not sure what time the shows start in the morning. I would suggest you plan to see Turtle Talk. You could see it right after Monsters Inc if it is running, and if not you could see it before or after Aladdin.

You might want to think about subscribing to Ridemax. For 16.95, it will help you plan your day with minimal waiting, and in my experience there is not a ton of bouncing around. Also, it provides a recommended list for Fantasyland Early Entry, tells you where to sit to minimize parade waits, etc.

I think RideMax is a good resource (I use it myself), but LoveMyLAP's plan is very conservative and doable, and RideMax will not add much in this case.
