I'm considering a fall trip to go to Food and Wine. Dates would probably be something like October 11 - 16. Here's what I'm looking for in a place to stay:

Close to WDW (of course!), we'll have a car
3 bedroom units
A real resort feel
Around $200 a night, could go up to $250 or $300 for the right place

Our only previous experience staying offsite was at Floridays. It was okay, but lacked the resort feel. It was basically 6 buildings with parking lots in between that you had to walk through to get from the unit to the pool. I'm looking for something like a Disney moderate where parking is on the exterior and all of the guest areas are beautifully landscaped and in a car free interior. We really like walking around the moderate resorts. We'd stay at a moderate onsite but we can't accommodate our party there at an affordable price. :sad1:

Any suggestions?

Try Hilton Grand Vacations club on international drive. It is a beautiful resort with I know at least two bedrooms and a pull out coach for the living room. You may also want to try Summer Bay Resort which is a little farther out 10 min. in Clermont.

Wyndham Bonnet Creek. They have 3 bedrooms, it is a true resort, and they have 3 bedroom units that should fall into your price point easily. It is right on Disney property, just not Disney owned.

another vote for bonnet creek - it's beautiful, close to parks and very affordable. check out the pics thread on here somewhere

Not trying to be argumentative, just a different point of view.... We did not enjoy Bonnet Creek specifically because it lacked a resort feel. The rooms are outstanding, larger and grander than any we've ever had. The resort itself, to us, was a bunch of buildings connected by a "too small" walk way. The pools we're always filled to capacity and we had to wander buildings away to find 2 loungers. In fact, we drove over to the Boardwalk just to wander around and regain that resort feel. We've also stayed at Sheraton Vistana Resort, which we thought was lovely and had a bit more of a resort feel. I understand you can't be "on site" this trip, but our experiences have reinforced to us that "on site" is where we are our most comfortable. Sometimes in the fall Disney will offer specials at Old Key West or Saratoga Springs. Maybe the price ends up in your budget? :3dglasses

Even with a good discount, you may find it hard to get something onsite with that budget that will fit your party size.

I would look into the Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa? I've seen their website, and they look like nice villas with a nice pool, connected to a mall.

You can also look at rentals on redweek. I've rented from owners there before, so you can see what resorts nearby have availability.

There's the Imperial Palms villas at the Marriott World Center that are all 3 bedrooms. Also Marriott's Grande Vista has 3 bedroom units. Both of those would be much less expensive to rent from redweek than through Marriott.
