Does this math from guide make sense?

This is not true any more. We just put in for 250 points direct from Disney, and they let us split it 150/100.

WhiteSoxFan didn't meant you could ONLY buy 160 points as a new buyer - he meant that was the minimum. They will always let you buy MORE points! :rotfl:

But, Sswaka was able to get a contract for 150 and then one for 100. In the past, a new buyer had to make the first one 160. This is a change from past policy.

Your guide is correct.

I own BW and bought it in 2005 with 37 years left on the contract. That means Me or my kids get 37 years out of it. It cost me more then SSR at the time (as they were having a great incentive and SSR had a longer contract at the time it was 48 or 49 years) When you divide my buy in at $92 /#of years left 37 it comes to $2.48 per point plus MF.

I also recently bought BLT-and my buy in was only 2.14 + lower MF.

So BLT is actually cheaper per point. But then when you compare how much a SV room is at the BLT vs BWV or a MK view vs a BW view etc etc the BLT is a little cheaper at this point, but when MF go up (BW is 13 years old) who Knows.

So why did I pay more for the BW--- Because its worth it for what I wanted out of DVC. I wanted to be close to the parks. I feel being so close to Epcot is priceless. I can walk over to the countrys (5 minutes) and shop, eat or just enjoy the music and illuminations any day of the week. When you are at Disney for 7-10 days it can get exhausting and being able to just hop the boat and get off at France/England is priceless.

In the end, it really doesn't matter what you pay. Think of it like a car-- did you pay more to have automatic seats and a sun roof? Did you ever justify the cost of the sunroof or automatic seats (if your the only driver) -- NO you bought what you wanted even though the it may have cost you moreIf.

When I bought BLT I got DP at SSR-- and although they were FREE I wasn't thrilled with using them, because I would have missed having Epcot in my front yard too much. So I bought 40 extra points and I got 3 free nights (during Premier Season for a Thurs, Friday & Sat nite stay worth 200 points) at the BWV instead;)

If you love the BC and decide to purchase it you will still have 32 years left of great vacations. If you want to be close to Epcot or love the BC then that's the right decision for you.

I can't wrap my head around why BCV dues are the highest. It's the one of the smallest resorts and doesn't have much in terms of amenities or landscaping (that I'm aware of) whereas AKV for example has animals and a larger parcel of land, SSR has a huge piece of land and beautifully kept landscaping. Can someone explain this please.

Could be the amenities BCV shares with BC and YC - bus transportation, boat transportation, SAB.

We also just went through the tour last month and the guide did this same math game with us as well. Must have been an exciting algebra lecture they had at a meeting somewhere.

:lmao:

And you know there's always one in every group who can't "get" it, so the trainer has to keep going over it again...and again...and again...
