I went to the bank today to get a couple of rolls of quarters for laundry. Lord, I can't wait for Dh's inheritance so I can get a new washer and dryer, but I digress.
On the drive through is a sign saying no more than 4 rolls of coins can be sent through the drive through. No prob, I only need 2. So I send the check for $20 cash and a note asking for it in quarters on through. After waiting a ridiculous amount of time the teller comes on the loud speaker and says she can't send rolled coins through the drive through. I point out that it says a limit of 4 and I only need 2. She explains I can send them to her but she can't send them back.
I don't feel well enough today to argue so I said I'd come in.
It's 90 degrees today and and I had Petey in the car and wasn't about to leave him in there. I could see the line was quite long and I'd be inside much too long for him to tolerate it. So I carry him in with me (he's less than 10#, very small and very quiet). He laid there quietly in my arms while the little girl behind us petted him and he gave her kisses. No barking, no growling, just loving the attention. I don't really think a bank is the place for a dog but I really didn't have any other options as I couldn't come back later and I really had to have those quarters today. The branch manager came over and suggested I should take Petey back out to the car. I politely explained everything I've just told you; it's too hot to leave him in the car, I didn't have the option of coming back later, etc. She was actually quite nice and did understand my reasoning and didn't push the issue. She personally got the quarters for me and sent us on our way with a doggie biscuit and a scratch on the ear for Petey. But even she couldn't grasp the logic in accepting coins in the drive through but not sending them out that way.
So in the end, no harm done, got my quarters and bank's not mad about Pete's presence. I'm still trying to figure out their logic though. Anyone care to try to address that?
