I can relate to the accent. I grew up and still live in Central Massachusetts and have gone out of my way to make sure I pronounce my words correctly. My Dad grew up in Boston so he had the accent down of a Bostonian. Though no matter where you go most people can tell you what state you are from. I use to be teased on how I said Boston so now I concentrate more on the pronounciation so I am not saying Bahston so I don't have the Boston accent anymore.
I think people assume Boston is the main part of Massachusetts not realizing there is a whole other part of the state.
