i have a cell phone through cingular. i am continuously getting voice mails that aren't for me or from people i know. my phone doesn't ring when they call...it goes straight to my voicemail. does this happen to anyone else?

this couple is fighting using my voicemail! i've had some pretty, ahem, colorful voicemails left this morning! and every now and then, i have this woman who talks to my voicemail as if it's talking back. she carries on this whole conversation with herself for 10 minutes...telling me what she's watching, what it's about, what she did that day, why she's been so sick, why her cat's been so sick...you name it, she's left it on my voicemail! the bad thing is that i have to listen to the entire message before i can delete it...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!

Never had that happen to me. I have Unicel for my cell phone.

If that couple only knows you can hear them fighting.

I'd check with your company about what is happening, doesn't sound right to me.

When I first got my cell phone through Cingular, I had a problem with checking my voicemail. They were going to give me another number, but I decided to go with a different phone exchange so within 5 minutes, they changed my number to the exchange I wanted. They forgot to change the easy access number I pushed on my phone to check my voicemail though. If I ever checked my voicemail from my phone, it called the other number. One time my dd accidentally pushed the number and some lady called back fussing at her for using up her cellphone minutes. I've switched phones and I don't have that problem now.

Why don't you call her and tell her about her messages?;)

i would call her, but there's no number that appears on my phone anywhere from them! i did hit "reply to this message" and sent this gal a message stating that i didn't appreciate their fighting using MY voicemail...lol

We've had Cingular service for a while now and haven't experienced anythink like that. Next time you get one of these messages try the following...Once you know that the message is not for you push 3 and this should advance you through the message, sort of like fast forwarding. You may have to push 3 multiple times (especially for the lady who rambles!) but eventually it will take you to the end of the message. Then you can delete it right away. On every Cingular phone we've had this has worked.

Good luck!
