Does THIS Happen In Your Walmart?

I have told my four year old that he was getting an "attitude adjustment" in Target. I had this one woman give me the evil eye, like, HOW DARE I say that to my poor, misbehaved child..... I asked her if she would like one too!:)

I would have loved to have seen her reaction! :rotfl2:

boy howdy.

Our Target is kid meltdown central. I have never been there when some kid isn't having a meltdown and some parent isn't screaming at them. The local Shop Rite grocery store is the other meltdown central in our town. Walmart is foreign language central. If parents and kids are misbehaving there, they're doing it in Spanish, Hindi, Filipino, Korean, Vietnamese or any number of other languages. It's kind of cool, actually. I have NO idea what they're saying so it's easy to tune it out.

It depends on which Walmart you go to here. If you go to one in the nicer neighborhoods, it's not so bad. Pretty clean too. But if you go to the one in the bad neighborhood, there are 5 screaming kids to every foul-mouthed woman!! :lmao: We went to the bad one last weekend (what was I thinking?), and there was a kid in the next aisle having a meltdown & screaming like a banshee. I just had to go look...and was shocked to see that he looked about 10 years old!! I was expecting a 4-year-old!! :scared1:

At our Walmart, in the warm months, there always has to be at least one parent that decides to take their toddler wearing nothing but a dirty white t-shirt and a diaper with dried snot all over his/her face & hair & no shoes. Why can't they wipe the face and put some pants & shoes on that kid. Then they let them walk around on that nasty floor. YUCK!!!

Last night I went in Walmart and these two kids were in the bathroom door screaming...I think the 6 year old was trying to get the 2 year old OUT of the bathroom and the 2 year old was screaming like a banshee....All the while Mom stood 10 feet away in the return line watching them scream...

I love it when parents say very loudly to their child: "That's too much money" or "You know I/we don't have the money for that".

I wonder if they are thinking someone nearby will take pity on them and buy it for the kid? I've never felt like you should loudly discuss your financial situation in public.

But the best thing is when later you happen to get in line behind them and find they have managed to buy lots of cigarettes and beer. By this time, the kid is usually in full melt down and they are either completely ignoring them or continuing to moan about how they don't have any money.

BTW, I've seen it happen at Target and Wal Mart as well as Winn Dixie, Albertson's, and all of the Dollar Stores.

I used to work at Michael's and we saw that kind of thing nearly every single day. I never once, unfortunately, saw any of the kids that were in such dire need of a good spanking actually get one...they usually got the, "Now, Susie, you know Mommy doesn't like that..." as Susie ripped 6 shelves worth of merchandise down onto the floor. If Mom really wanted to be a badass, she might threaten time out. :sad2: It usually just ended with the kid being bribed with candy or toys to be good. Grr.

ETA: Can I just say how incredibly thrilled I am that today was my last day EVER working in a hobby/craft store?! YAHOO!!!!!

probably was me yelling at my kids. I take them and they immediately head for the electronics and then when I am done I can't get them out of the store off the playstation or whatever it is that they are on.

But you simply can't beat their grocery prices - I'm cheap.;)

Or the fact that they price match so you can take all your ads and get all the shopping done in one place. I hate driving around more than I hate Wal-Mart.:)

I haven't seen it since I was a kid, but there used to be something we called the "K-mart Swing". Mom or Dad dangling the kid in the air with one arm and whacking his butt with the other. I think people get arrested for that these days so they feel they have to scream instead.

I have no idea why but :rotfl: I haven't seen that in a long time.

DH got thrown out of Walmart (ok asked to leave) after telling a woman not to crack her kid across the face. She went nuts and they were both asked to leave. :sad2:

Target is so much more civilized. :hippie:
