I'm not a DVC member, but I am helping friends of ours plan a trip and I thought you all might have some answers for us. They are using their parent's DVC points to stay for a week in a BCV studio and are wondering what area to request as far as room location goes. Here is what they are looking for

-A nice view. They don't care about seeing Epcot or Illuminations. They just want something nice to look at when they are relaxing on the balcony - gardens, woods, courtyard, quiet pool, whatever. They do not want to see the road or a parking lot since they live in a large city and get plenty of that sort of view at home!

-They would also like to cut down on the extra walking as much as possible, since they have two very small children. Something close to the main part of the building maybe? Or at least near the elevators?

Any suggestions?

They might want to ask for a Woods view which is a nice quiet view of the woods/wetlands and is also close to the main elevators. There is also a pool view, but that goes pretty much the length of the resort so you could ask for pool view, close to main elevators. Just remember, these are all requests, nothing is gauranteed.

They may also want to add the word "Tub" to there requests. If they get a handicapped unit there is no tub to give the kids a bath.

Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/beachclub.pdf
This will give you an idea of “sectional views”. It is extremely difficult to ask for a specific room (as well as trying on the CM’s). With the new room ready policy, guests have reported getting several choices at check-in and this may than help

The file is in adobe acrobat and which can be downloaded from this site for free:

Good luck

#412. It is "practically perfect in every way." Non-smoking, non-handicapped studio with a beautiful view of the quiet pool. Right off the elevators, close to the lobby, and just across from the laundry room, which is great as studios don't have their own laundries. I had this one for 3 nights and it was WONDERFUL! It was very quiet as not too many rooms are "past" this one, so not too much traffic.

Advice here says not to ask for a specific room when requesting, but there's no harm in asking at the front desk! :)

Hi There,

We love Studio 416. We stayed there for 10 nights back in 2002.
It is next to the main elevators and 4ft from the laundry. It is a non hannicaped room with a beautiful view of the quiet pool and canal. Being next to facilitites you may think it's noisy but we never heard a thing and with the elevators being so quick it is time saving too. Nobody would be dissapointed with this room in my opinion.

Regards,

I would also recommend the woods view. We have had it all three trips to BCV (studio #131, 231, & 331) and it is wonderful! You can even see some fireworks from Epcot. Very peaceful too!
